In his Prime - This is a tiger we fondly call as Mr X. He is the progeny of the legendary Kankatti female and the Bamera male. The is tiger I have watched from the time he was a young kid where he was born in the magical meadows of Chakradhara way back in 2012.

After his mothers death, he was thought to have been killed by older males like his siblings who met the same fate. But our boy is a fighter and he made his presence known one fine day in an area in Zone 2. He stayed within a small patch of forest biding his time. He even sired cubs with the late Kankatti Jr, who was sadly killed in 2017. He was a doting father who unlike most male tigers, spent a lot of time with his cubs, Infact more time than the mother.

At 7 yrs, he is now reaching his prime and looks confident enough to take on a larger territory. Solo seems to be his first target and he has already had a couple of fights with her, the latest being yesterday. It may still be a year till takes complete control of her territory, but I think it may happen sooner than later, unless Mangu, the current dominant males drives him away or kills him. If not, he will stake his claim and extend his territory, retracing his childhood roots which will take him back to the fabled meadows of Chakradhara. It will be be very interesting to see what unfolds in the months to come and I will be following this family for the entire season.

For now, he looks gorgeous and I can see how large he has grown. He is a splitting image of his father, the Bamera male who took over Tala Range in 2010-11, albeit for a very short time. Its amazing to shoot a male tiger in his prime and one without any marks of territorial fights.

In this video some claw inspections. Interesting to see the visible part of claws, when those are out. I had to take sound off when watching this one...

On this one there are places to see and get some idea about tiger claws when visible.

Doesn't look wild. The vegetation looks artificially planted.
Probably Siberian in some zoo or rescue...

Found it. Photo taken in Six Flags, Jackson, New Jersey. By Bob Jagendorf.

Handsome Male from Pench, father of the Durga Females previous litter.
By all accounts he is the perfect Tiger, he's not called "Handsome" for nothing.

@Rishi
Info on Collarwali below

Seoni (MP):
A 13-year-old tigress, popularly known as “Collarwali” from Madhya Pradesh’s Pench Tiger Reserve (PTR), has given birth to four cubs, making her the mother of 29 cubs born in different litters in the last ten years, which forest officials feel could be a rare record.
Tourists Sunday spotted the Royal Bengal tigress ‘T-15’ with four cubs in the PTR, field director Vikram Singh Parihar told to news agency PTI Sunday confirming the births.
The tigress hit headlines in April 2017 for expanding her litters by giving birth to four cubs.
Responding to a query on whether ‘Collarwali’ has now become the first such tigress in the world to have given birth to so many cubs in its life-span, Parihar said he has not come across such a feline, and that he is checking it out.
Talking about the latest births, Parihar said this was the eighth litter of the “Collarwali”.
“(Earlier) It had given births ot 25 cubs in seven different litters,” Parihar said, adding that the tigress is a prolific breeder and a cub-raiser.
He said 21 of 25 cubs of the tigress born earlier, are currently wandering in the reserve.
“The tigress is very beautiful, no doubt about it. Its eyes and walk sway all. At the (current) age of 14, this big cat has given birth, which itself is the most pleasant surprise,” the field director said.

He said the average life span of a tiger is 14-15 years.

“‘Collarwali’ looks young, and going by her beauty and robust health, she might create another record hopefully by living beyond 20 years. Look at the feline, it seems that she might survive 22 years,” the forester said.
The tigress was born in September 2005, he said citing official data.
The big cat brings in huge revenue for the PTR as hundreds of tourists drawn from different parts of India, besides foreigners, turn up to catch a glimpse of the majestic beast.
“Department of Post had issued a special cover envelope of ‘Collarwali’ on World Sparrow Day on March 20, 2015. Besides, New Zealand and Canada too issued personalised stamps on the tigress in that year,” a forest official said.
According to wildlife activist Sanjay Tiwari, ‘Collarwali’ was born to tiger T-1, also known as ‘Charger’, and tigress ‘Badimata’.

Remarkably, the big cat had successfully reared her five cubs in 2010, he added.
As per the last tiger count in 2014, the population of the striped animals in the PTR, spread over 1169 sq kms in Seoni and Chhindwara districts, stood between 35 and 49.
‘Collarwali’ is as famous as feline ‘Machhli’ of Ranthambore in Rajasthan, who died in August 2016, Tiwari said, adding that ‘Machhli’, who was born in 1996, was considered the world’s oldest big cat.
The feline, who lived for 20 years, had given birth to 11 cubs.

Supermom: With 4 newborns, MP tigress sets record of delivering 30 cubs shocked

The tigress with cubs
BHOPAL: Supermom ‘Collarwali’ – the incredibly fertile tigress at Madhya Pradesh’s Pench Tiger Reserve – has delivered four more cubs. This is her 8th litter and she has so far mothered an amazing 30 cubs — a record for any tigress in Madhya Pradesh. Nicknamed by visitors because of her radio collar, the latest litter is again a boost to the tiger introduction programme in the state that has lost 28 tigers in the last few months.

“The tigress was spotted with her new cubs by tourists recently. They are all very small but in good health,” said a forest officer confirming that that this was Collarwali’s eighth litter.

Referred to as ‘Queen of Pench’ and ‘Pench princess’, Collarwali was one of the four cubs of famous tigress ‘Barimada’, who was featured in the famous documentary titled ‘Spy in the Jungle’ by BBC network. She was also the first of Barimada’s cubs to establish her territory in the core area of her mother’s range, experts said.

The tigress littered three cubs for the first time in May 2008. But, as an inexperienced mother, she could not protect them from the harsh climate. All three cubs died of pneumonia within 24 days, recalls a forest officer.

In October 2008, she produced her second litter – four cubs including three males. All survived. Experts claim she has used 13 different sites to rear her three litters and most of the times it was caves.

Between 2008 and 2013, Collarwali gave birth to 18 cubs, of which 14 survived. In 2015, the tigress gave birth to four more cubs in its sixth litter.

Pench is now home to more than 60 adult tigers. A male tiger translocated from Pench reserve had also led to successful reintroduction project of tiger in Panna tiger reserve. Devoid of its tiger population that fell to poaching and other reasons, Panna is a model in tiger reintroduction, with a population of more than 25 big cats.

Quote:“This is the 8th time she has given progeny which is the only known record shocked Wow . She was born in 2004-05 and in span of 15 years is still very healthy given 3-4 cubs. If we count her contribution along with progeny by her cub’s total number it may reach more than 50 tigers. Tiger is prolific breeder and future of tiger is bright if we manage our habitat with like I did while establishing the Pench tiger reserve during 2001-2004 as field director Pench tiger reserve. All praise to our staff from old to present in keeping habitat management in proper lines,” said Dr R G Soni.

@Sanju
There's no way to know for sure, the largest Tigress weight I've seen out of Ranthambore was 170kg and Machli was said to be a good sized Tigress so I think the 170kg mark is a fair estimate. Ranthambore is known to have large Tigers and most of which have Machlis genetics so obviously she had good Gene's on her side.

@Sanju
So which Tigress are you comparing her to, is there a specific Tigress you have in mind?

Trying to predict weight based off video is very tricky.
