Tigers tend to have no patience for other males usurping their territory or living within that same territory irrespective even of their own bloodline. Witnessed one such rare moment when Rudra limping a bit was seen marking the territory and later his own brother Tala following him on the same route smelling and aggressively moving towards Rudra. Born to Shivanzari female from Kolsa these two have already pushed the mighty Matka out and now measuring each other to claim the territory and the beautiful females in Core. Time will tell who rules..... is that really Ravan from Satpura? thought he was missing for the past 3 years.

Raavan first came to light because of photographer @sagargosavi. And, this is his latest post: #Ravan returns !! Interesting story!! Read on - In life, one encounters many co-incidences. Some just leave you speechless. On 7th Nov 2015, On my trip to Satpura, I had some amazing and thrilling encounter with one magnificent and huge male tiger along with Erwin Agnel D'Rose of Jehan Numa Wilderness Since it was 1st photographic record of this male, I called him Ravan. Since then Ravan became tiger to see in Satpura. But soon sighting of this male stopped and for almost 4 years or so Ravan was not seen in Satpura. Not even in camera traps. On 7th Nov 2020, I was in the morning safari with Erwin in the forest of Satupra again. Heard from one guide about spotting a tiger entering the thickets. We followed the tracks and calls and here it came out of the thickets in the dark corner of the dense forest near a small dam. Surrounded by dense forest and a hill. Heavenly morning soft light coming from above, and He came staright out of the thicket and started walking on the Dam. Took a pause and gave us a glance, exhaled a deep breath HUMMMH vapor came out his mouth, got lit my light coming from back and above ... His shoulders and back was lit by the light shining bright showing his muscular build. huh !! dreamy .... but it was all happening. He jumped from the dam uphill and disappeared in the thickets again. When we started researching about his identification by matching the stripes, All of a sudden, I went into a deep silence... all sounds around me muted... all things in my sight disappeared except him watching me .... this was when I realised that He is THE Ravan. Do such things happen ? really ? It's as if he appeared out of his secrecy to see his old friend in me.. Time and again, Mother Nature always left me with such encounters which made my belief in her stronger and stronger !! Ravan from 5 years ago. All credit to Sagar Gosavi.

@Rage2277 Pench is like 80 kilometres from Satpura and there is forest cover between the two to facilitate a corridor. Who knows, maybe Ravan is actually from Pench. What I find interesting is, where was he for 3 years? If a famous tiger like him can avoid detection for 3 years in today’s age, then what about the tigers who are shy and don’t want to be seen.
