This is an older video, he was there and another male as well but it seems as though both left or were pushed out by Umarpani which will most likely be the case with Jamuntola as well.

And yes, it's very likely CM is gone for good and no one knows why.

What a great way to start 2020!

4th of January 2020, was absolutely delightful.
Tigers usually don't fight for long. They keep sizing each other up, between periods of resting and fighting. We were so lucky to witness this behaviour for more than four hours in Kanha!

What began as a not-so-regular tiger sighting ended as a mystery! We have all heard of males fighting over females, and tigers mating, but at the same time?! When two male tigers started growling and sizing up each other, we knew it would end in a fight. Interestingly, the female was witness to all this and once the males were done with a round of fighting, It seemed the she was allowing one of the males to mount without even a clear winner being decided. Then they would all rest, and start over again.

Just couldn't believe what was happening!

The same female who mated with the male a few times in the afternoon, suddenly turned aggressive. A few hours after they first mated, she started snarling and growling at him. By evening, she didn't even let him come close to her!
We all know that she has 3 young cubs who are not even a year old. Maybe what she did in the afternoon was false mating? Maybe she knew that both the males were fighting and she was trying to avoid both of them coming close to her? Or are these just tactics that she uses to protect her cubs?

I simply don't want to conclude! Maybe this mystery will unravel in the near future!
