@DARK MANE

Thanks for the video!
But it's a little sad to see his mane.
I hope the area will stabilize as soon as possible.

You do understand, that there is no male lion alive who can defend his territory against 2 invading adult males?? It never happened.

So, he is a coward because he doesn’t want to die? How exactly he would beat 2 adult males in a fight?

Skorro Jr. defended his pride and territory against 2 coalitions of 2 males for almost half a year,  this is actually great achievment which not many lone males would be capable to do.

So lets not "bash"  Skorro Jr., he did everything he could.

Sorry to reply to such an old comment but I was re-reading this thread and saw more than the once the claim no male has ever won a 1v2 warfare.

And while I obviously agree it was completely unresonable to expect Tumbela to win against either Birminghams or PCM, it has in fact happened before.

I'm pretty sure both Nhlanguleni and Dozie did that, though they were the attacking party. They killed one of the dominant males and ousted the other, taking over their territory. So depending on the circumstances and if the male is very lucky, he can pull this off.

I don't know why Skorro JR suddenly makes a sound.
Wouldn't it be dangerous if he was alone?
Oh, no...

Oh, no...

It could be dangerous for Skorro Jr. if a coalition such as the PC boys hears him.
He might be trying contact calling

I'm not sure if this is contact calling for a full on territorial roar. But regardless, PCM are back to the west so very dangerous indeed.

I'm not sure either. If Skorro Jr. is challenging territorial males by himself, he is crazy.

I really don't think I'll know the male lion's head until I die.
I hope Skkoro leaves there to live quietly as a nomad or make a duo.
Skkoro's intentions are unknown, but screaming alone is obviously insane.
I believe he is smart.
I'm anxious and afraid I'll hear bad news every day.

Lions are opportunistic, he prob didnt hear or smell PC males recently, so he thinks they are not in the area, so he is trying to announce himself to attract females (Ximhungwes).

@Tr1x24 If what my friend says is true, Skorro is trying to kill himself now. Oh, my God!

In theory there is space for a male coalition to take over the Othawa pride and peacefully coexist with the PCmales.

Skorro however coexists a bit to peacefully with the Ximhungwes for that.

I think skorro is just a way to solve the mating problem with ximungwe.
Not long ago, he fought protecting his daughters, so I think his protective instinct as a father was ahead of him.

It is hard to believe that the protective instinct can be greater than the lion's mating instinct.

Anyway, it really happened, and it was amazing, but seeing him hanging out with Ximungwe again, he obviously just wants to mate and play.

He hasn't been dominant for a while.
It's really weird to suddenly scream alone.

Well, his father, thanda impi skkoro, was suddenly hunting on his own, sizanani was eating alone, catching and killing a flying bird.

Skoro didn't eat the food he had caught hard, and the sizanani brothers were eating alone.

It was really weird to even let them eat first.
Then all of a sudden skkoro caught a bird and killed it lol

Both look like wacky geeks, reminds me of a user on a forum a few years ago who saw skkoro at that time and said crazy boy. It was a lot of fun lol

Like the father and the son.

@Duco Ndona It's not possible to have different dominant males for Ximhungwes and Othawas. Othawas can't even have dominant males already but assuming they make it to adulthood the coalition in control of Ximhungwes has to be the same as Othawas, controlling the entire Western Sector and being strong enough to keep PCM in Singita, just then stability can he achieved.

They can't peacefully coexist if one coalition is weaker than the other. Even when Othawa male was dominant in Singita and knew the Othawa pride, he invaded their land and chased his own littermate. He may have not attacked Sassy if he caught her since he didn't attack his aunts, but chances were he would attack the subs. OM had to be chased by the last Matimba male, actual dominant male over Othawa pride.

Now imagine the non-related ruthless and expansionist PCM, they have no reason to tolerate any opposition in the West, they'd only accept neighbors if their neighbors are strong enough to chase them off.
