Its around that date 97/98, because when he joined Sparta pride he looked like around 3 or 4..
Rather 98/99. The page didicated to Mapogos (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5HibcaIgT6Q&ab_channel=THEMAPOGOS-LionsofSabiSand) sets in on October 1998 which I believe is more or less accurate.
Going though the logic of Londolozi that Makhulu was 15 years old in 2012,He was born in 1997.
Anyway,1 year didn't make much the difference.

Anyway,every opinion is welcome
As I have said those all are just estimations. The date which is posted in mentioned in the video came from this blog I believe: https://wildearth.tv/2008/05/the-mapogo-story/

After tracking them across the reserve, we finally found the two Mapogo brothers alive and well. Fears that one was mortally injured seem to be unfounded, although the long grass may have hidden some old wounds. Happily though, both Pretty Boy and Makhulu seem to be in good condition. Great video of the aftereffects of a fight between brothers, Pretty Boy and Mr. T. Both are limping, with obvious wounds to their legs/feet, but it seems Mr. T suffered some internal damage as well, leaking bloody urine.

Those injurieson Mr T are fresh and caused by lionesses. The fight with PB took place day before this video was made as description under video say.

Yeah, I saw that. Although you don't actually see the fight with the lioness, or at least much of it, I wouldn't think she would have injured him internally in such a brief skirmish. The leg injury is fresh, not sure about the internal injuries causing the bloody urine leakage.
Makhulu of the Mapogo coalition at Sabi Sands June 2005. on one early morning safari drive, we ran across this lion chasing another male lion out of his territory. We followed him in the Land Rover as he ran for well over an hour. Image by: Nikki

Big Mak was massive when he was younger. Even towards the end with Pretty Boy he was in really good condition for his age and still had good muscle mass for an old lion.

He was indeed, the largest of the Mapogos, and they were all larger than average. Mak is my personal all-time fav lion, if only for the fact that it was he who got me so interested in lions in general. However, there are numerous other reasons as well, such as his warrior spirit, his patience with the cubs, all he was put through by the Spartan Pride and how he dealt with it by feeding the entire pride with buffalo (which made him the great leader that he became), the list goes on and on.
Does anyone have pics or video of when the mapogo males killed Blonde male ( Dozie brother ) back in December 2007??
I recall he was mating with a female and Dozie was nearby when the mapogos showed up and caught him, Dozie and the lioness ran away but Blonde was killed on the spot.
Theres also another male lion killed by the mapogos named Vololo I guess, he was killed by the 6 mapogos together, I recall the writter who witnessed saying there was mane flying everywhere, it was brutal.
For both I recall reading many years back only the articles but no picture were included.
