Matimbas have accepted the cubs.
That is amazing that they accepted the cubs and they probably see what an asset the Ottawa male is, so time will tell.
I m not so sure...It's possible the Matimba males are tolerating the cubs or they just waiting for the perfect moment to strike.... Remember the Majingilanes and the young Othawa male sired by Selatis....
Matimbas will think these cubs are theirs... Reasons are there were no dominant males in the when Matimbas arrived. 2nd these cubs were born 10 days after Matimbas arrival. 3rd the lioness has mated with Matimbas which will make Matimbas think these are their cubs...

With a clan of hyenas bickering over a giraffe kill, lions are bound to come and investigate. A Matimba male lion walks over confidently to go claim his prize. Credit: image by Stuart Buy at Leopard Hills, posted September 7, 2018

Old king from the Sabi Sands at Dulini Lodge, look at how black this male lions nose is. The nose on a lion becomes increasingly pigmented with age, and the blacker the nose, the older the lion (generally). Credit: image by Alex Braczkowski, posted September 28, 2018

The Matimba males having been spending a lot of time with the othowa pride and have been following their every movement. They have been vocalising announcing their presence daily. They seem to be going strong and doing well holding their territory. Here this male was testing to see the status of one of the othowa females. Is it true the Othawas were fathered by the Mapogos? If so, Prince Othawa has some powerful pedigree, he has also been feeding on kills with the old boys. Seems the Matimbas are too wise to do some of the normal things that characterize males in their prime, like kick out their son once he gets big, or tolerate your girlfriend having cubs from other males. A natural mellowing of age so to speak. Credit: image by joffersphotography_ at Singita, posted October 4, 2018

And even though these Othawa cubs are Majingi sired, since they are being baby sat by the Matimbas I'll stick them in here beneath their handsome bro.

Absolutely amazing, I know it’s early but as they are accepting the Ottawa male, is he part of the matimba coalition now?
Sources?
I havent seen any photo with Matimbas and the young Othawa male together and no blog from ranger that confirms that...
