There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Simply stunning.  Thanks for this one!
We all see this 15 year old sometimes hobbling about, and then he goes and shows us he's not quite retired yet..... He wants to show off for his pride, that he's not useless and too old.  I remember when he tried to creep over Aunty Othawa while she was snoozing, only to have her bounce up and growl harshly at him!  He then proceeded to roar several times, a bit sheepish at being caught.... ;Wink
I hope he goes out from old age and not from a gored buffalo injury though!
He might be waking up later on with stiff back and legs....haha!  :)
What an unforgettable character and survivor.

This whole episode of the Othawa lion pride taking down a buffalo was hands down one of the most exciting events I have witnessed in the bush. It really does not happen often to see the whole process from start to finish. See my Instagram Stories for scenes from the buffalo hunt.

"Everyone seems to be scared of him at the moment says ranger."

Ealier on the same video guide said that Tumbela males are growing in confidence and are seen more and more on the property.
