There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

I don't know much about Skybed Coalition but i took a look at the entire thread and wanted to know if the 9 males split into two groups while they were still nomads or if they were already dominant and to cover the vast area they split up?

I think nobody knows how exactly went down.

We do know that 3 ruled further northeast around Timbavati Picnic spot, while 6 where closer to Orpen Gate and Manyeleti.

It could be that they initial grab that entire area as 9.

Skybed male with 'orange' eyes (a little close together and facing upwards) and a lioness, january 2015
"We were on the H7 and stopped at Bobbejaanskraans, where you can get out at your own risk.
We sat there drinking our coffee.
I told my mom after a few minutes: "It's very bushy here and we cant see past the bushes. I feel very uneasy here please lets get back into the car."
She did not want to. After I repeated myself three times, we then finally got into the car.
We started the car, drove about 4m and what came running in? Two lions...
The one male lion was very aggressive.
We reversed and they lied NEXT to the bench where one can sit.
I took the photos with my phone as I was too scared to open my window. Had many close lion sightings but this guy was growling at us and fighting with the female lion. "

Agreed. And while we can't confirm 100% based on looks alone, one could definitely see where HB would get his physical appearance from.
