Skybed Coalition - Skybed - 03-17-2016

Hi guys I'm really interested in finding out the history and current updates of the Skybed coalition. I am surprise that there wasn't a thread about them in this forum given that they are quite popular on the web.

The only information I have is from their FB page which says that there were originally 12 of them. Three of them were believed to be killed by the Northern Matimbas while the rest were split into coalitions of three and six.

As of now, it seems like the coalition of six were being reduced to four. Just hoping if anyone of you guys could shed a light on what happened to the other two as well as any other insight u may have thks!

This is awesome! Finally someone took photos of each individual that make up the coalition of four Skybeds. Only thing is he thinks they look old lol.

MoHawk Mapogo The skybeds coming back? I thought Matimbas knocked off three skybeds one time(I'm not 100% sure) and that's why they're only seven of them now. They must've regrouped and now coming for revenge.

@Pckts

wow that would be epic!

I've read somewhere that the three Skybeds were still in their natal pride when they were killed. Now that the rest of the Skybeds are in their prime it will definitely be a different to ball game altogether.

As of the coalition of six, it seems like the numbers have been reduced to four. Not sure what happened the other two. If anyone could confirm their whereabouts it would be awesome!

Bobby-Jo Clow Photography:
A few months ago I posted about a 15 year old lion that I had photographed in the Timbavati, South Africa. His name is Skybed male. I was shocked to hear that he was still alive in early November 2015. He was emaciated & weak when I last saw him.
Well he is one tough lion because I have received news that he was spotted a few days ago near Orpen, Kruger. He is still in poor condition. Rangers & guides are making claims that he could be the oldest observed lion in the wild. The photos on the right were taken by Jake Searle on the 2nd of April, 2016.

This is one of the fathers of the current Skybed males.

how old did King Noch die?
I am curious to see how Skybed sons treat their father.

When he dissapeared, I think he was around 13 years old.

I would say they would chase him and beat him up, if they had the chance. Remember what happened with the Kruger male and the Charleston males. These two males were raised by the Kruger male, yet they had no problem fighting him when he ended up in their territory.
