I agree, he is so thick and girthy, I wish I could get his circumference measurements. He is a true tank. From the captured ones in my opinion he must definitely got the thickest girth measurements in southern pantanal area.

Too bad he died.

Yes, it is quite large. In fact Alamosaurus is one of the largest dinosaurs all things considered.

For those of you who have not seen my post about it in the carnivorous dinosaur thread, here's how a grizzly bear (by GuateGojira) and an Xuanhanosaurus (modified from Audrey.m.horn to better fit cross scaling from relatives) of roughly equal mass compare.
Take note of how the Xuanhanosaurus possesses the 'best of both worlds', so to speak, as its arms are about the same length as the bear's and likely just as useful to grapple down large prey with, but how it also possesses a much larger skull and set of jaws, much larger than that of the bear and therefore that much more useful to hunt large prey.

Wow, i've never seen a jaguar that big before! But with his size, will the weight hinder his speed at all? Or it won't affect that much?

No it doesn't hinder their speed that much, they're still very explosive. This clash bellow includes a male said by local rangers to be larger than another male of 130kg so that means he could probably be as large as that wild dead 140kg jaguar of the pictures. As you can see he is still agile and fast enough to give a beating against its smaller competitor.

OFF TOPIC.

• JAGUAR vs. PUMA ALERRRT?! ???

So before you ask, yes I’am the author of this photograph, yes it is taken in the wild (Osa Peninsula - Costa Rica), no I will not reveal the exact location, and yes it’s a fusion of two different pictures I took on the exact same spot a few days appart. ✌?

Last month I’ve posted a picture showing some tracks in the mud and asked you if they where from a jaguar or a puma, so as lot of you have reacted to it I’ve decided to show you the size difference between the two species!

On the right you can see a well sized male puma (Puma concolor) and on the left a small but fully grown adult female jaguar (Panthera onca)! Usually jaguars are bigger than pumas but like humans their size varies between sexes and even between individuals and so that’s why sometimes jaguars tracks are smaller than pumas ones.

BTW, this female jaguar is called Nubosa and I’ve spotted her 20 times in the last 3 years! She looks young because of her small size but she’s at least 7+ years old as she was firstly spotted in 2013 and was already an adult at this time.
