These old warriors might not be kings for much longer, those 5 young males are a serious threat to their territory. In Satara, there is a very high density of male lions, theres now 5 coalitions of 4+ members clustered near that area (Young Shish, Trichardts, Sataras, the 5 new males and maybe the Mayambulas). I am excited to see what happens next.

3/4 Shishangaan brothers looking magnificent…and well fed and content on the land~ Is it Footloose and Casanova that are with Casper? Please confirm if anyone is able to positively id~ ~In Lak’ech

About #372. Yes, Casper seems to be in bad shape, but we don't see any fresh wound. So what ? Disease ? Life is very hard as concerns an adult white male lion... Is it an easy target attracting some male intruders ? Of course, Casper is 9 years old, no more a young lion, but if we compare with its brothers-in-arms, its health is perhaps more fragile. Things are changing very vastly... I hope it's only a bad moment.  *This image is copyright of its original author
