There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Initially, the largest skull of Saltwater crocodile is from the Cambodia which is now housed in Paris Museum. It measured 76 cm from the tip of the snout to the back of skull table, maximum head width of 48 cm and 98.3 cm mandible. It was estimated this croc perhaps around 22-23 feet long. But there are Saltie skulls albeit shorter in dorsal skull length but wider than the giganormous skull from the Cambodia, for example a Saltie skull named Edgar in Singapore museum which is 70 cm from the tip of the snout to the back of skull table and maximum head width of 52 cm. This wide Saltie skull is believed to come from Java, Indonesia. Anyway, Lolong's dorsal skull length (from the tip of the snout to the back of skull table) is 70 cm but narrower at 45 cm.

Thank you! @johnny rex
I read in some sources that biggest saltie body mass is >2 tonns known to us but it can be even more unknown still around the world and since, its evolution 4.0–4.5 million years ago, many even bigger giants might have roamed this earth we never know them. How far is it reliable? Then, if that giant lurks in water, even an African adult Bush Elephant healthy prime aged tusker can be overpowered, ripped, drowned and eaten alive in water by this giant 2 ton croc  of its kind (imagine him in this giant saltie's natural habitat)!

A research paper on the morphology and physiology of crocodilians by an organisation estimates that saltwater crocodiles reaching sizes of 7 m (23 ft 0 in) would weigh around 2,000 kg (4,400 lb).

I'm sorry the total length is in feet, not meters. I've corrected the error in my previous comment. So the largest maximum size for saltwater crocs is between 22-23 feet long. The largest crocs weigh a tonne. 2 tonnes could be an exaggeration. You can find more infos about record sized crocodilians here https://www.iucncsg.org/365_docs/attachm...64b150.pdf

Measurements of Lolong
Lolong was one of the largest crocodiles ever measured from snout to tail, he was a saltwater crocodile (Crocodylus porosus) measured 6.17 m (20 ft 3 in) and weighed 1,075 kg (2,370 lb),he died in captivity on 10 February 2013 from pneumonia and cardiac arrest.
In November 2011, Australian crocodile expert Dr. Adam Britton of National Geographic sedated and measured Lolong in his enclosure and confirmed him as the world's largest crocodile ever caught and placed in captivity.
Lolong was caught in a Bunawan creek in the province of Agusan del Sur in the Philippines on 3 September 2011.

Thanks @epaiva
So lolongs skull is about 3''s shorter than the Cambodian Specimen.
Is there more measurements for that Specimen as well?

That's a shame, I still wonder the correlation between skull size and body length, I'm assuming the others mentioned with shorter skulls than Lolong but Wider still were shorter in length, correct?

This is interesting video. Croc is swimming and then shark (not great white etc. but quite big though) comes and closes up. It stays there from 1:30 (swims from bottom of screen) to 4:00 and observes croc which doesn´t notice it. Later in about 7.30 also croc dives deeper. Quite interesting to watch. No fight for those who only want to see blood...

Brutus and Dominator having some disagreement over dead pig. They say, that Dominator is 6 meters and Brutus also close to that. Dominator is younger and it is said, that he has taken the place as "the one" from Brutus. Brutus is famous big croc and it has only one front leg.

6 meters or not, obviously big ones.
