There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

That record was broken by the 215Lbs snake I posted a video of. Same group of people, Conservancy of SW Florida, they have been pulling some monsters out of the marshes and swamps down there. They just keep breaking records regularly. This guy, who posts videos on YT under the name Python Cowboy, and he caught this monster, 17' 7", in the Everglades, by himself, and it almost took a tragic turn for him. He caught this one over three years ago, and at the time it was the state record, but those records just keep getting broken.

That is the exact same 215lbs 20' snake I posted in the video. An absolute monster that had clearly consumed a ton of native wildlife to reach that size. Look at her head, she was enormous, and at that date, she was the longest, and heaviest, wild Burmese ever caught. On top of that, she was gravid with over 100 fertile eggs. Incredible catch she was!

According to this newspaper article, it was a woman of 45: https://www.thejakartapost.com/indonesia...awesi.html

At least six people have been killed and swallowed by pythons in Sumatra, Borneo and, in particular, Celebes (the old Dutch name for Sulawesi) in the period 2017-2024. In books written by Dutch naturalists and hunters published about a century ago, incidents of this nature have been described more than once.

Here's a few links to recent articles about similar incidents:

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/o...-indonesia
https://eu.usatoday.com/story/news/natio.../99824246/

Here a link to a Springer publication (2020). A bit different from your average publication, but interesting:

One more article (2011) to finish the post: https://news.cornell.edu/stories/2011/12...ors-snakes
