There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Michele Bavassano: " "Lights and Shadows" . Among the dark cliffs in the North Sea, rays of light illuminate the puffins on the rocks. The islands are characterized by black rocks, overlooking the sea, between the shadows when the sun arrives, often creating dreamlike atmospheres. "

"Think we need some photos to enjoy during lockdown whilst we can't get out to enjoy the wildlife in the flesh. Beautiful shot of these vultures by @_____ruthie"

At the background, a lapped-faced vulture, and in front of it some Ruppell's vultures. The two dominant species of vultures in Africa.

Jens Cullmann: " ‘Not warm and fuzzy’

Vultures don’t fit a stylish role around nature; however, they are so to speak, the ‘garbage removers’ of the wild, and their role is important in eliminating centres of disease and bacteria. Most vulture species in Africa are all large, powerful (not very attractive) birds; and they are all too, in danger of extinction. I have learned to respect their role in nature, and appreciate their unique quirky looks.
A few weeks ago I posted some images and a video were hyenas fed on a buffalo. Seconds after the last hyena left these vultures took over."

Alex Mustard: " Puffins Underwater. Puffins are birds of the ocean, but most shots are taken in the short time they are come to land to nest. This shot is 9 years old, and I’ve been trying once a week to look back through a memorable old shoot, a great escape from lockdown, to relive some fun times and pick out a shot I passed over at the time to process. I found this one today. "

Zhayynn James: " A pair of southern ground-hornbills hunt for insects and larvae in an old wildebeest carcass. Often, species of flies and beetles would lay their eggs in a carcass and the birds would pick at the carcass looking for them. "

Wim van den Heever: " Kingfisher Splash..!

Years ago I did a project on Kingfishers in and around my hometown.
I had lots of fun and it was a huge challenge to get these beautiful birds in action.
So when I found myself in Brazil with a few obliging Kingfishers it was game on again ?
I had loads of fun photographing these super fast little gems "
