If things work out as we all hope they do, if these girls are able to restore this legendary pride to prominence it could turn into quite a good legacy. Something keeps him in Western Sector, and I hope it works out for him.

He held his own with Nhenha, a notoriously tough male lion, has fought with the Plains Camps males more than once, possibly the cause of the limp you mentioned, and yet he continues to stay in this area. As a lone injured male, he will forever be an underdog for the remainder of his days, and I hope he has many years yet to give.

Lambile left well got lost and joined a different pride then he and his 4 other brothers went into Kruger 2 died then scar and limper died bc of TB right?

Lambile was not among the 5 brothers that left together as nomads.   You might mean Skorro Jr.  (If so, Yes he did)

Lambile is a Tintswalo today w Mandevu and Ncila.

Yes,,, 2 died in Kruger, Limper and Scar both died from sickness.

Yes I know lambile got lost when all 6 where still with the pride and he joined the mbiri pride and after some time the 5 remaining brothers (skorro jr scar and limper and 2 others) went into Kruger 2 got killed and yeah sometime it makes me sad seeing skorro jr alone when he still has a brother alive if lambile had never gotten lost things would be different but can’t change the past

This is so sad for a great warrior like Skorro Jr., don't understand why he doesn't want to form a new coalition, it could be some sort of lion stress/sadness.

Ha, maybe that is why I don't recall there having been 6, they were 5 when they left the Nharu pride. Good stuff, thanks my friend for the clarification!

I recall he fled all the way into Manyeleti when that whole thing with Nhenha went down?

Anyway. I think he is currently just scared of going nomadic, probably due to the harsh life they had when they did, so he clings to whatever pride he can get. The Ximhungwe pride was his primary target, but now there are cubs, and the PC males spend more time there. It probably got a bit to hot underneath his paws so now he might start hanging out with the Othawa pride again.

I dont think he has much to offer to that pride. The girls are perfectly capable of handling themselves and his presence will only complicate things and attract attention. But it would at least keep him away from the Ximhungwe cubs.

You may be onto something with your analogy, though I don't believe he is scared, as you mentioned he did go all the way into Manyeleti, not a trip for the feint of heart. But, he also knows full well what that life means. I also think he has a lot to offer the Othawas, namely in protection. As we have seen just recently, anything can happen in the bush, danger is lurking everywhere, and the absence of a male can mean death for some of these lions. I believe the Styx Pride has certainly been missing the absence of the Gijimas, and the Nwas before that, and it just cost them half of their adults this week. As long as PCMs are not present, if he is with the Othawas, I don't think the Mangheni would chase them, though it is a bit murky on what would happen with the Ximungwes.

While these things can still happen with or without males around, I think other prides would be less keen on attacking them if he were present. The Ximungwes themselves have experienced critical loss of this nature, when the current last remaining Ximungwe lost her sister.

@afortich I think it's down to personality, some lions are more social and willing to form alliances, others after losing their brothers refuses to join anyone else, which is the case with Tumbela.

A shame because they had multiple chances to join up and being experienced and in their prime they'd have decent chances of becoming territorial somwhere else.

@Duco Ndona He was seen chasing both Birminghams by himself, and also fought Nhenha 1v1 and defeated him, all according to the rangers. His missing lower canine is proof of his fight with the Bboy.

But once Limper died he lost his confidence, although Limper was mostly useless he still gave Skorro Jr a sense of not being all by himself. Then it didn't took long for him to feel the pressure and go to Manyeleti... And at that time it wasn't even Birminghams only, PCM were consistently invading his territory too. He did well, better than most would.

As for his use for Othawas, these 2 almost got killed by Manghenis and Ximhungwes multiple times, we even have videos of them barely escaping. Plus their grandmother was killed by hyenas.

So he does have a lot to offer, not only he gives protection against lionesses and hyenas, by if PCM show up, he, with his limp, may end up as the bait, allowing Othawas to escape.

Edit: and as you say, he stays away from Ximhungwe cubs, cubs that have been accepted by the PCM.

Well yeah, but that could be described as "lost early", pre-nomad stage.

I think that if it comes to a conflict he will be the first to run. Or in case of the Ximhungwes, he might draw their attention  or even pick their side in a conflict.
While the Othawas might get a false sense of security and take more risks.

So ultimately, the slowest distracting sacrificial lamb might be the only advantage he can be right now. Which is hardly the big break for the pride people make it out to be whenever he returns.
