There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

It seems Manghenis chased them again in Savannah, but it's believed they escaped.

"The two Ottawa females continue to defy expectations.
We had a great sighting of them this morning after quite some time without seeing them.
They seem to have grown a lot since and are in great condition!
It should only be another year or so until the females start responding to males, in order to rebuild the legendary pride."

Wow, amazing! How old are they now? When will they become of age so they can start rebuilding the pride ?

Still need at least 10 months before they can start rebuilding the pride, now they have to avoid males

@Tylermartin! I'll see later if I have it when I get home, but the smaller sub was almost a clone of the smaller third sub that died. This current smaller sub is confirmed littermate of the bigger one.

Tumbela showed no interest in forming a coalition. He shows no interest in leaving to explore other areas and now has that permanent limp. If he has no more future as a dominant male, it'd be cool if he could at least visit Othawas more to offer some protection, if they rebuild the pride they'll probably be the only legacy he'll ever have.

If things work out as we all hope they do, if these girls are able to restore this legendary pride to prominence it could turn into quite a good legacy. Given how his luck has gone, lost one brother very early, then lost two more soon after they became dominant over a pride in a seamless and bloodless transition, I think it would be a legacy well earned. Something keeps him in Western Sector, and I hope it works out for him.

He held his own with Nhenha, a notoriously tough male lion, has fought with the Plains Camps males more than once, possibly the cause of the limp you mentioned, and yet he continues to stay in this area. As a lone injured male, he will forever be an underdog for the remainder of his days, and I hope he has many years yet to give.
