There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. I would not be surprised at all if they where 230-250 kg's especially Caesar, he is probably in the top 10 of most muscular lions I have seen, I'm very impressed by him. that picture of that etosha lion of 240 kg (adjusted) and that lion from timbawati which weighed 250 kg (I know you don't think that it was weighed pckts, but I choose to believe the vet) does not not look like larger specimen than the notch boys to me, but discussing the weights of not weighed animals are just a waste of time...

Do you have any photos from Masai Mara?

...or perhaps your brother could have some...ask him...

Its not easy to estimate the size of an animal via photo...its not even easy to estimate the weight of an animal standing in front of you. Anyway I think that 200 kg empty is a reasonable estimate - big lions. Alleged 230-250 kg empty would mean that they are Waghdohs among lions. Not impossible but improable.

btw imagine 2 big cat enthusiasts standing in front of a cage with male lion and arguing about his weight. "This lion is 220 kg!" - "No no...this lion is 195 kg!" ...ridiculous...

Are you sure about their age, ceasar definitely looks as old as Grimace, and lions grow manes differently.
Just curious...
