There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

And especially if Styx and Nkuhumas young males form a coalition, they are in his backyard.
But as we said before, he first needs to become nomadic to find a partner, dominant males dont accept new males.
It's been so interesting getting back into the male lion dynamics in Southern Kruger National Park this week. We had a great sighting of these 2 males who couldn't be more different looking, although they are both part of the same coalition of 4 (S26 coalition)
The second male (Styx male) is a real character, he has an injury to his jaw, most likely the result of a kick from a large prey animal such as a Giraffe. He has apparently had this injury for a long time and it is amazing how he manages to survive and remain in such good condition!

Its the Blondie/unrelated male, son of Majingilanes Dark Maned one was not seen with him in a while, he was last seen last year around Transport Dam, so its unknown if he is still alive..there are some rumors that Dark Maned male was seen last year with badly injured leg..
Fourways males where dominant around the Transport Dam area since 2017, and sired offspring there, this male with his son in the background last year:
