Our dominant lion, the Giraffe Male, has been scarce of late, seemingly focused on prides and territories beyond our jurisdiction. • Meanwhile his sons, the six young Blackdam males, seem to have regrouped forming a formidable coalition of young lions. • Will this be the time that they try to stamp their authority over the Thornybush reserve? Only time will tell.

As far I remember they were dominant of the Western Pride. So the Young males who used to hang with the pride are their sons.

I think Giraffe pride subadults are not with Giraffe lionesses and Monwana males.. There was report that they are on their own, while 3 older lionesses are with Monwana males.

I haven't heard or seen anything about the BDM in a while. I don't think he would be caught easily and is probably lying low somewhere.

Thanks for the update. I think he may move south since he probably knows the area. Might spell trouble for the Mapoza male as I think the BDM has chased him around in the past. I get the impression that the Xikukitsus have struck out on their own and Mapoza is by himself.

I think he moved west into Klaserie, where male lions density is not that high.
If he moved south he would be spotted already, because lion sightings and reports from that area are regular.
