If presence of Mbiri males would be a resault of pressure from other males then we would see Myambula pride in that arena as well. In fact females with sub adults would be first to run of from new comming males. I think that action is just random Mbiri think - always in a look for a scrap.

Of course at least some them are doing good job, yet some of them do not. I still have in memory spreading fake news from about year ago of HB passing away. I am not saying that this dirrect fb page would also spread fake news, I am not judging anyone, yet I personally by far prefere to way for any official raport.

Yes I remember the "Matimba males" a page full of BS

Apperantly 1 of the Nharhus was limping and had blood on his pawn, so they might be fighting aswell..

Mbiris recently have seen a lot of time on the ege of their old territory and Nharhus, its speculated that they are getting pressured by other coalition in Kruger from the other side, so they might try to takeover they old territory, but as we see, Nharhus are not intimiated.. We'll se what will happen in future..

I think nobody has confirm which male was limping.

Would be interesting which was

2 Nharhus who where involved with a scrap with Mbiris :

https://www.facebook.com/113838043410868...035968668/

This 2 always are together, while 3rd and oldest, limping one, is most time on his own..

Nharhus grown alot since they first came, the size advantage that Mbiris had before, i think is not there anymore, and if the 3rd male join, Mbiris will have hard time..

I said its a speculation, we dont know..

But its strange that they are trying now to take their own old territory, which they give it up without a fight half a year ago or so..

Acording to Tanda Tula rangers Mbiris are much larger. I think two Mbiris vs 3 Nharhus is more or less balanced fight. Nharhus mean bussiness for sure, but Mbiris are one mighty duo.

They did not give it up without a fight. Nharhus mauled Shaka and took River pride right from the nose of Mbiri males.

As far as I know, there was no official report that those scars where from Nharhus..

"Shaka" has grown a lot in the last few months
He always has looked as the little brother but look like to be taller while his brother is more bulky and weighted.
It's just my humble opinion.
What do you think?

Hey guys, new member here. Been following these threads for a good couple for years and it\'s been really awesome getting to follow lion population dynamics (particularly in the Greater Kruger National Park ecosystem), so thanks for all the great work.I think the 3 Nharhu males have been doing very well as pride males despite their youth, refusing to roll over for the 2 powerful Mbiri males (damn! Shaka has grown, he looks slightly bigger than Scar). Hopefully they remain in control in the area for long enough for the River Pride to grow even more but time will tell.
