Totally agree on everything you said!  Also because it's basically cut off these lions have been inbreeding for decades.  Its actually not a good situation in the Crater. 

I just looked at a GPS map of prides in the area and 1 pride have been traveling into the creator rescently.

Oof! Says it happened in Serengeti, but this is a mistake I'd bet this male won't be making again. He'll likely be much more cautious when approaching a pride in the future.
