1/7 Saba Bora males with a Sametu pride lioness. This girl is the daughter of Snyggve/Bob Junior. She didn't want to mate apparently the pride still hasn't fully accepted bora males yet.

The lake Quintet brothers (coalition)

Meet LK 115, the oldest of the lake quintet brothers. This is a coalition of 5 big black maned Lions found in the ngorongoro crater, other brothers are named LK 116, LK 117, Lk120 (titan Jr) and LK 123.!! their story is very fascinating, they have been ruling the crater since 2017 (7 years now) against invading nomad males from outside the crater, siring so many cubs and owning all the prides inside the crater!!! So far they have been the most successful Lions reigning in power for 7 years and this is due to their great number (5 Brothers).

The lake Quintet brothers.

Meet LK 120 (Titan Jr) ladies man, another brother of the lake Quintet brothers, I always find him with a female or females!!
Where did the Lake Quintet brothers came from??

The Lake Quintet Brothers were born from a lake pride in 2013, sired by the four members, strong males named gene flow coalition made up of Eugene, Genius, Gene and Genovo, these were non crater males that entered ngorongoro crater around 2010 and established themselves in the crater and hugely contributed to refreshing genepool (hence that specific coalition name) After arriving in ngorongoro they first took over Munge pride, and start gaining dominance in the crater!!! They were brutal and ruthless. They killed any male they met without mercy, and they hunted buffaloes a lot and hippos.!!
What happened later??the story continues….

"The lake Quintet brothers (coalition)

Pictures of Lk116, LK115, LK117 & LK123 respectively around jackal hill area, LK120 (titan jr) was mating with a female in the picture!!

So after the gene flow coalition of four brothers took over munge pride, they went on to lake pride and that’s where lake Quintet brothers were born in 2013, in 2015 Gene and Genovo disappeared by being victims to fights with other invading males, the remaining two Eugene and Genius were dominant and seen in the crater until they also disappeared around March 2018.!! The gene flow coalition were famous for taking down big games such as buffaloes!! One year prior to the disappearance of Eugene and Genius in 2017 5 young males were seen trying to gain dominance in the crater, and it was the handsome 5 Quintet brothers,!! How did they gain so much dominance, the story continues….!!

In 2017 the lake Quintet brothers took over lakette pride then munge mabinti pride, then went on to take over lagunita pride and ousted Hijalmar the dreadful (mg106) (a munge pride male born 2010) and in the process of takeover they killed a well known male named Kijana (non crater male),then they were dominating the three prides at a time, killed all the cubs at lagunita pride and started siring their own quickly!! They were as ruthles as their fathers, Hijalmar the dreadful (mg106) moved to ndutu marsh area more than 60kilometers from ngorongoro crater and was seen with another coalition partner around 2020!!
It didn’t stop there the Lake Quintet brothers continued expanding their dominance, the story continues…!!!"

The lake Quintet brothers (coalition)

"Recent Pictures of a female with cubs around jackal hill!! The story continues, The Lake Quintet brothers then went on and took over munge pride, recently it’s common to see them around munge area, jackal hill, miti mitatu, ngoitoktok area and lake area, despite the stability in crater, adolescent males are pushed out and other males can’t get in the crater to get a look in!! The Lake Quintet brothers are now 10 years old!! Maybe soon or later they will be ousted by another coalition that might come outside ngorongoro crater and overpower them, but the Quintet brothers pose a threat to any invader due to their number (5 brothers) which give them an advantage!! Recently I have seen females with cubs around Jackal hill (in pictures I shared) and pregant females around munge area all this by the lake Quintet Brothers!! Speculations has it that females are loosing interests with their handsome Quintets but I doubt that with what is going on.!! That is a short story of the Lake Quintet Brothers that rule the ngorongoro crater!!"
