About #377: yes, it seems you're right. I believed having heard at 0mn:21 sec. the narrator saying to be in the Serengeti. But yes the Mabula district is located in South Africa.

i thought i heard serengeti too but i think it's his accent that makes us hear that

I just came across a video of this incredible Lion with a bum back right leg missing the bottom past his ankle! Wow! His name is Liangata and this channel will post more updates on him! Incredible! He has been surviving for years on his own like this, similar to Spearboy and other injured lone males!

Wow! The strength in these guys never ceases to amaze. More human induced tragedy, snare of course.

Thank you my friend! How do you post the actual video here? I only know how to post the link. I use imgbb to post pics and stuff on forums but I never try to post actual videos.

Lake Quintet Males, very impressive. I was recently thinking about the Crater males, and their size and impressive manes, and I wonder if perhaps there is something that occurs in that area naturally that is causing this.

I bring this up as I have spent a good many years studying whitetail deer, habits, herd sizes, why some areas have larger deer body wise, and some areas have deer with massive racks. During that time, I found that when you have a particular area where the majority of deer in a particular area have something unique or special about them there is most often something in that area that occurs naturally which brings that about. Say perhaps a particular mineral is in abundance, or there is a tremendous amount of a particular food source, ie, a farm in a particular area has bucks with much larger racks than other farms in the same area, and you find out there is naturally occurring calcium or phosphorus in that area that isn't in the surrounding areas, this can be in either raw mineral deposits or even in certain types of foliage. This has caused me to wonder if something along those lines is occurring in the Crater, because I am really not sure it can all simply be attributed to plentiful food sources. There are a lot of lions in other areas who have plenty of food available, and yet they don't seem to get manes like the Crater lions do, or in some cases body sizes as well.

Anyhow, I digress, here is the short clip I came across of the Lake Quintet males. It is in link form, as you cannot insert YouTube "Shorts" videos.

I saw that video. I have no idea what Tanzanias policy is on Vet intervention but I would hope this lion gets some treatment. Kruger sucks that they don't help and in the Mara the Kenyan govt has a policy to help its animals which is great. Pains me to see this boy hurt like this even tho it looks like it doesn't bother him. Do we know how he got this injury? Looks like maybe a bullet or something?

Seems too big to be a bullet wound - I was thinking a gash from a buffalo’s horn.

It’s astounding that he’s still alive, let alone behaving normally, with such a fearsome wound…really goes to shows how resilient big cats are.

I also believe it is an injury from a bullet, you can see the path the bullet took, including a line in the bone of his skull. One lucky boy, for sure.

I just come to look at this video coming from the Serengeti National Park. The green is dry, the weather is rather windy. It is said they are two brothers, 10 years old. The black-maned lion seeming more powerfully built than the other... At the end (4mn20) we can see several herbivore waiting for the male lions to finish drinking, but they prefer resting a bit. Life is rough !
