There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Could this be the instance that was in one of Mala Mala's recent videos? Where the Nstevu lionesses were going after the lone Kambula sub? I seem to remember one of the Ndzenga males flooring his brother in that clip, and I thought it was OE smacking Amahle.

It certainly feels like it. I concur with Eorenji smacking another male, who has to be his brother even if we couldn't tell visually. Eorenji was standing nicely next to the lionesses to gauge his size, so easy to recognize.

Cute scene of Ximhungwe subadult (Gingerella's daghter) and her little half brothers:

PS. I insist this pride deserves his own thread, considering its history, great present and promising future.

...and I insist you use the tutorial on embedding Youtube "shorts" videos.  Lol j/k

I fixed your post for you, here is the link to the aforementioned tutorial.

I previously explained why they do not have their own thread. Should things change, and we start getting regular updates on the pride, we can revisit the conversation, but as I mentioned, we do not want to create a new thread that will diminish activity in the Sabi Sands thread. Let's see if the updates become more regular, first, and we'll go from there.

Ok my friend. I got more complicated than I should have with the "short" youtube video, but I already did some tests and made sure to learn how to embbed shorts.

Maybe struggling with my english or reading the 1000 pages of SS thread made me a bit dumb  Laughing (It's a joke, I'm managing to read the Matimba thread of more than 100 pages).

And don't worry about my insistence on making a new thread, I was just talking for the sake of it...

Always nice to see more footage of this pride, but I wouldn't call it cute, personally. This is exactly why lionesses keep their newborn/recently born cubs away from the other members. Any older cubs and subs in particular can be quite rough with them. Ximungwe's son was just big enough to give her a bite that got her to stop.

Any newer updates on those 2 S65 males that were in Gijima territory months ago, who looked crazy similar to Gijimas when they first come into Sabi Sands too? Guessing they are trying to establish themselves in KNP, I remember really liking them as an upcoming duo and wanted to follow their story.

There's three things that are certain in life - death, taxes, and the BDM returning to the Nkuhumas once all the chaos in the North has settled for the time being.

No worries, at all my friend, I enjoy kidding around, which is how my comment was intended, and exactly how I took your comment. We are always here, and happy to help, so feel free to reach out, either on the boards or via PM, to any of us on the Mod Team, if you have any questions.

As far as the Xim Pride, we will, for sure, revisit the topic, if we get to a point of getting regular updates on them.

You are true. In fact, adult Ximhungwe female was alert with an eye on the interaction between the youngster female and the little cub. In spite of that, still I found it cute.

Total coincidence, but it's interesting how the Timbavati/Manyeleti-born adult males are having a really rough go of things despite their (relative) youth (Tumbelas, SBDMs) while the Kruger-born adult males (the dominant duos) are all in their prime and thriving.

Also, wasn't there a post by the rangers in northern SS a week ago suggesting that the Mantimahles are expanding into Nkuhuma territory? Or have they lost interest for the time being?

Indeed, I was even seeing posts of folks surmising the Mantimahles were possibly territorial in the north, already, given the battles they've won.
