Dark-maned and the Talamati pride were feeding of a buffalo carcass when the big Imbali male arrived and chased them off. What a beast!

Well, obiviously Imbali male had the factor of suprise and when he sees Dark Mane retreating, he charged forward.

But, i was saying this for long time, Dark Mane is injured lion and we need to take that in consideration, because of that he obiviously dont have the confidence to face Imbali male who is pushing deeper in his territory and taking some Talamati females for quite some time now..

DM is pretty much playing hide and seek with Imbali male for many months now, with his injury, there is no way he can beat healthy and confident Imbali male..

I believe that since the meeting with Mohawk he has already given a small idea that he was not doing very well in terms of trust, fortunately it is still a dispute with a single man which makes the scenario a little better, that sub-adult talamati is truly amazing

Does anyone know exact number of Talamatis? On this sighting there was what, 8,9 lions? And that number is on majority of their sghtings..

We all count them at 14 individuals, 5 adult females, 3 subadult males and 6 subadult females, but all 14 where not seen together in ages, even if 2/3 females are further north with Imbali male, then here still should be 11-12 individuals (i think guide said that there was 6 subadults here out of 8-9 lions).

No clue at this point. A lot of the time we get zoomed out shots so no clue which talamatis are around.

I could only see 1 male today (or was their two Idk), so presumable theirs another group away somewhere else.

I've seen 2 subadult males there..

Its really hard to follow how many subadults are there because of spliting, and is hard to see difference between adult and subadult females at this point, same goes for Kambula and Nkuhuma prides..

I guess we need to wait for situation around those prides to calm down.

I think its not know for certain, i know there is 2 old females, Silver Eye and her sister, then there is atleast 1 sired by Selatis in late 2015, dont know by other 2, might be from Matimbas in 2012.

Left 2 oldest females, on front Selati daughter, not sure about smudge nosed female behind, she might be sired by Matimbas or Selatis and 5th female is not on the picture..

I think @Gijima might know more about them.

I am yet to see the footage but one sub-adult male and one sub-adult female tend to hang out alone a lot and might be missing in sightings at times. Although in case of a hunt and a kill I suppose they would not be that far off not to heard it and join in (like they in that case of Talamati attempting to hunt a rhino which was not showed ofc, WE actually were on those two when it started and moved in with them).

Not much, he showed up around 2019 and took control of the Imbali Pride. His origins are unknown. From his nose colour he looks to be about the same age as Dark Mane
