Its not that surprising. 

The group still has a lioness, which helps a lot in hunting. 
While due to the age and size difference he probably bullies the rest out of their share. Which are still quite scrawny looking as an result. 

I hope this dynamic does not result in issues later on. Id not be surprising if the others dump him later on or he gets killed due to overconfidence.

Torchwoods have been on Nkorho the past 2 hours ish, both males are present 
I counted 7 cubs, but there might be more off camera, they kept running offscreen and back again 
It looked like 3 large cubs and 4 smaller ones, plus one lioness they were mobbing

Torchwood Pride does have 3 large cubs that were born in July 2020, so it's good to see them in that picture, meaning they have reached 1 year old stage.

Btw Lauren mentioned that a sub-adult male was found on MalaMala being fed upon by Hyenas, they don't know if it's the sub-adult with the broken leg or another sub-adult, but given the circumstances it's probably him. She says it's currently being investigated so they don't have the full details or a positive ID
