There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

As we got into the sighting, they started to mate, but unfortunately it was in a very dense area. They continued to walk through some extremely dense stands on bushwillow trees until we couldn't follow them any further. The sounds of the Lions and the sound of thunder at the same time definitely made up for the lack of visuals of the cats mating. The male even roared at one stage straight after mating.

So Skorro Jr mating with Mhangeni female, interesting.

Or miss identity and it was Ximunghwe female.

Both males will mate with the female if she is in estrus.

Have there been any recent sightings of the ximungwe female sub-adult?   I’ve only seen the mother in recent sightings.

Pravir has confirmed it was Skorro Jr and indeed with a Mhangeni lioness.  Quite possibly one lioness stayed back to distract him from the Pride cub/sub.  Something to be on lookout in how it develops

Dont think thats the case, only 2 Mhangeni females have cubs, so rest of the females are back in estrus.

It makes sense. Just because a few of the lionesses has cubs does not mean the entire pride has to stop.
I guess in a few months, the majority of the pride will start gravitating towards Nym leaving the mothers and cubs to fend for themselves more.

Dont think NK male will be threat to cubs, he has 4 females to mate with and prob wont behave super dominant at the beginning if they accept him, same situation as OM was, he didn't harm Bboys cubs.

Where can I find that correction regarding the Nkuhuma male? I have some people asking for it and It would help to have a direct link rather than just a image.
