There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

He really needs to get out of West and team up with Nkuhuma2016 Male and Talamati Male or with SBDM or Skorro Breakaway Male (is he still in the North?) or maybe with Kruger and S. Avoca or the 2 Nkuhuma Young Male (the other 1 is from the breakaway). There are many males for his selection but seems his decision to stay in the West is holding him back and taking a toll to his body.
I believe it is likely that he is in the later stages of TB, the main sign of this is his hip bones wearing through the skin. I think he no longer has the option to leave the western sector.
It’s a good chance they won’t accept him because he is weakened… he’s been threw a lot and he’s staying in the west because 1 he knows the west and 2 he cant really run too fast right now so it would be too dangerous to leave

Exactly, healthy duos like NK + Khanya / S.Avoca + KM most likely won’t accept a male who they see no benefit from. Hes not an additional force as he doesn’t have the right mindset, and he’s not going to be a major help in hunting anyways, not that they even need it.
Tumbela best move was to try it out with NK + Khanya when they went West and chased Mhangenis, instead he run from that initial reaction and prolly didn’t attempt to seek them out again, albeit much easier said then done being confident enough walking up to, two very capable males in great shape.
His best chance would be with a youngster who actually wants a companion, could be Nkuhuma breakaway boy, but he’s with his sister for now.
Tumbella, as a potential thriving male is history.
He is in such state, that to the healthy males, he has nothing to offer if it comes to joining them in a coalition and if he were to stand his ground on his own, he would be dispatched rather easily. While at the same time, he is still to healthy to join seriously ill lions.
His only real option right now is to stay in western sector. Where he is familiar with his surroundings and options, is in good standing with various prides and the PCmales aren't as aggressive towards roaming males like him. If he weathers the current health crisis, he may still have some good years ahead of him as a scavenger.
However, in that latest video his mental state worries me.
Sure I get that animals, even those competive or hunting eachother aren't constantly looking for fights. But in that clip, Tumbella seems to be completely catatonic, as if the hyena isn't even there.
For the hyena to lose its fear like that shows that he has been observing Tumbella for a while now and noticed something was up. Its like he was bitten by a snake or something.
There is also a trickle of fluids running down his neck that I cant immediately place. But I doubt its from an attack.
So perhaps we should focus more on hoping on a speedy recovery so he can return to his usual nomadic self. Rather than trying to puzzle together ways for him to become competive again.
