NK/Tumbela where roaring in the south aswell, and gain nothing.

Lions are opportunistic, but if PCMs decide to return, they are in trouble.

How long will they go without a response before they decide to be something?

There shouldn’t necessarily be a time frame but as of right now, they’ll still be picking up on fresh scent marks of both PCMs. They’d first have to know for sure that the area is vacated so if PCMs don’t start responding they will eventually start to explore more and their confidence will grow.

The worst thing that could happen is that these two stumble into either Ximhungwes or Mhangenis and realise the PCMs are elsewhere. Lionesses may prevail once or twice in protecting their young but with no protection from PCMs, it’s only ending one way.

Yeah, this is what I've been worried about for a bit now, especially for the Ximhungwes, as this would be twice in what?  18 months'ish?  The other part of the equation is the poor Othawa girls and Ridge's subs rolling around that area.  Tsalala is a concern as well, but she is almost a Leopard as it is, so she may be ok.

Has there been any new info on that light-maned male that showed up in the West all of a sudden?

It may sound harsh.  But I think at this point the PCmales are going to need to atleast kill Tumbella male for this to be resolved without further bloodshed.

He has been given warnings and opportunities enough to leave but he keeps returning to pose a significant risk to their prides.

This is eerily echoing Nhenha at the moment and returning didnt end so well for him either.

My only question is what happens if only one PCM returns, like this last time. If these two are able to work together, as a team, it could spell trouble for them.

It was a hoax, the pictures going around, claiming to be this light maned male in the west were actually pictures of a lion from Nkomazi, as I was told by @Brahim

The same thing will happen like the 3 mjejane males one of them was visiting their territory alone he heard new males in his territory he ran to get his brothers they returned and killed many of the young vurhami males even tho the plains camp male ran off both of them alone in the past it MIGHT be different this time so if only one plains camp male returns he’ll either try and run them out on his own or he go back to get his brother

The PCM have barely started taking over the NK pride and we are already seeing the danger that it is for the prides when their males leave even momentarily.

Tumbela and NK were trading roars even back in the south with the Nkhulus.

They may lack the strength to face established coalitions but they won't hesitate to kill cubs if they have the chance.

I doubt they'd roar if they were hearing the PCM roar in the few days they stayed in Savanna.

Savanna has said they moved east again so hopefully Ximhungwes dodged them this time, but now is the Manghenis that have to dodge them at least until they reach Londolozi.

But anyway interesting enough, Savanna talked about maybe giving their coalition a name. I think it's still too soon but it'll be cool to see them getting named in a few months.

@Duco Ndona this is only happening because the PCM aren't doing their job in the West, being further north. Tumbela and NK wouldn't dare to show territorial behavior in the West if the PCM were there.

NK and Tumbela are nomads so they'll normally traverse the territory of all other males in their area, it doesn't mean they will try anything in the West... As long as the PCM's presence in there is strong, of course.

Nhenha had 2 females that accepted him and the PCM weren't fully dedicated to the West, spending most of their time in Singita and visiting Londolozi a lot too, reason why Nhenha insisted in returning and trying to claim the West despite not having any chances.

We have not seen a similar behavior from the NK/Tumbela coalition yet, especially considering how Ximhungwes have cubs with PCM and would avoid them.

Does anyone know who, or where, the rumors and photos of this "light maned male in the west" began? This would be very good information to have.

1 PCM chased both Tumbela and NK already in the past, when NK and Tumbela linked for the first time.

So unless their teamwork and confidence didnt improve this time, only 1 PCM could still scare them away.

Yes NK sub is much older, but there's a reason the other subs are keeping their distance, not only that but the PCM killed even Chela who was an adult, the female subs are certainly not safe.

Also, don't forget that the Othawas are 2 or so months older than the NK subs but the PCM have chased one of them just a few days ago ( 1/2 was confirmed to have been chased by them in Singita when she was split from her sister after being chased by unknown lions, probably PCM or Ximhungwe ).

And yeah things don't look good for the Talamati female sub, the brother went missing once or twice but rejoined quickly so I was hopeful for the sister, however it has been a while now without the female sub showing up.

And without the female sub it'll be basically impossible for the already aging Talamati adult to rebuild her pride surrounded by rival lions.

The name Talamati will be on the brink of extinction if the female sub don't show up, which is heart breaking.

Edit: actually I think the adult is still in her prime, probably born in early 2016. Problem is that she needs to raise a litter that includes female cubs, raise a litter alone in tough spot with bigger prides and rival males everywhere.

Or possibly join with another female in similar situation (things around might change till she is past caring for this litter, who knows) like Ximhungwes did.

I fixed your post, many of those Reels links do not like to be embedded here, for some reason. I did the same for one of Tino's posts, as well.
