There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

I didn't think S. Avoca was in that poor a condition.  The title struck me a bit.  Even the shots in the video of him didn't look that awful.

I don't know that he is nearing the end of his days, unless he has a run in with the Nkhulus or something, but he is a little off from his former stature. He and his brother, imo, were two of the most beautiful lions in SS, for quite some time, along with Dark Mane and Blondie. The Avoca pride can sure produce some beauties.

I dont think the southern avocas days are numbered. He is missing some teeth and his k9s are wearing down but all he needs is a partner and some good meals and he will be fine.

He does not look like he is about to die. But he clearly is struggling so I would not be surprised if he doesn't make it to next year either.
