The Third YM has been away from his brothers for q while now. He’s been persistently staying with a smaller fraction of the Pride which has some sisters and at least one Adult. Silvereye was among that smaller group but recently has had a hard time staying in contact after several scrapes with hyena and failing health.

I do not think the third male is gone. Just in a different group.

Pride right now is splintered in three groups.

It is worrying though that he is separated from his brothers at such an important stage in their life. He may end up some kind of third wheel of their future coalition. If they ever join at all.

Totally agree.  I’ve been waiting for the three to regroup and Rejoin but he seems to be a mommas boy.  I read he’s Silvereye son somewhere but can’t verify cause I forgot the source Sad

But I totally agree this is the time for him to be with the others and develop strong bonds

I'm not sure there is a third group, all of the prominent identifiable members (short tail, clipped ear, silver eye) are with the core group.

I think the third male is most likely dead at this point, can't imagine he's still lurking around with absolutely no sightings in 3 months

As @Duco Ndona said, I also count three, two for certain in the first picture, and likely a third near the left edge of the image.

Isn't this the 3rd male "Blondie"? This male was sighted on 30th Nov 2021.

We need some clarification once and for all.

This is male number 1, he has a small smudge on the right side of his nose at the bottom

So, in that video it makes it even harder to tell. The two others I believed to be cubs appear to be adults as they walk along, so now I am uncertain.

Yah lol, there should be 3 lions of this cubs size, 7 of the sub adults size and then god knows how many lionesses
Poor thing lost the tip of it's tail too

Then you are in fact correct, I am only seeing one of that size in the video. I wonder what has happened, perhaps hyenas, especially given this cub has lost a portion of it's tail as well.

@Tonpa okay, it's shame there's no actual photo of a Talamati subadult male, alleged to be the 3rd male seen with a group of females, eating a kill with the S8 male around 2 weeks' ago. I mean, it would be good if there is a photo of that male for identification purpose.
