There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Healthy males look like that.
Problem with "age" in Kruger lions is not the age itself, yet if that lion has some kind of disesase (TB, black spot etc.) or not.
Male lion in Kruger will look in peak condition up to ~12/13 years of age if he is completley healthy, and reach 14/15 yrs.
Problem is, ~ 1/5 males (maybe less) are, and some who are, might get killed/injured before.
Diseases and fatalities are main factor why in Kruger, males lifespan is ~9/10 yrs, if we remove that, average would be over 12. Which means, male who doesnt have that, will reach 12+ without a problem.
Those darn buffalo carry TB and males bring those things down left and right so if they get hurt TB will takeover period example is blondie avoca poor boy RIP
