Lion or tiger cub as a pet

Want some feedback on this. Truthfully, I would love to raise a pet lion or tiger cub
some day. Kind of torn on the moral issue though. It won't be till later in life, if ever
Seeing the friendship some trainers and keepers have with these animals makes me
yearn to experience it. I enjoy the the thought of it.

Friendship's that can turn in an instant. They are WILD animals. Look what happened to Seigfried and Roy. Raising tiger cubs since birth and one day one of them just attacks them. Do you have the space for a lion/tiger? Do you have the money to PROPERLY feed them? House them? Vet bills? Habitat enrichment?

Want a pet? Get a dog. I seriously can't believe people are so "ignorant" to continue to ask this question. If you get a lion as a pet, you're an "ignorant". Plain and simple. You're subjecting this animal to a cruel life for your own selfish reasons. You "enjoy the thought" of a 400-500lb animal living in a backyard? Eating chicken wings and ground hamburger? Developing health problems that they normally would not have living in the wild or in a zoo? Health problems not only could you not afford to PAY for but would have a nearly impossible time finding a vetranarian who would treat a lion or tiger.

I'm glad that you're "kinda torn" on the moral issue. But not till way, way later in life when the animal is nearly dead and miserbale. But even then you say "maybe."

These trainers and keepers do not keep them AS PETS!! And it's not freindships. These are trained PROFESSIONALS who respect the animals. Jesus Christ, the more I re-read your comments the more pissed off I get. You're staggeringly ignorant.

Tell me how you really feel. LMAO. All the points you made are valid, its simply
a DAYDREAM. If I could make it work, I'd do it. The logistics alone are staggering.
People have done it successfully. Its a risky proposition, but if done properly, can
be rewarding. I'll put you in the "nea" category on this. Thanks for being honest!

Stoja9:
I understand your point of view, but there is NO NEED of bad language here, ok? Opinions are welcomed, bad words NOT!

Like Chaos said, it was just his imagination, about what would happen, nothing more.

I will edit the bad words from the post of Stoja9. That will keep clean this place.

I agree with Stoja9 in regards to the changing of verbage. That is a murky area, if you prefer to use "*" instead, I think that would be better Gaute.

That being said, as much as it pains me to defend Chaos, I will say that your response to his questionable thread and ideals may have been a little harsh.
But I am as guilty as any other, sometimes people say things that just chap your a**. We do try to keep it as civil as possible here, like I said before, Its not as easy as it sounds. I understand

@stoja9

You have all rights to express your view points (as long as it makes sense). But avoid insults.

My intention was not to offend you, but to leave your personal comment, only that without the bad words.

Next time, I will simple erase it, ok?

If you don’t like the "mods like this", the “doors” are open, and I am NOT been sarcastic, I am serious.

Read the rules Stoja9 and take your time with them.

Just remember, this is not a "simple" forum, this is a sanctuary for knowledge. Treat it as such.

No need for this type of disrespect.
The mods put a lot of time and energy into this site and you're a guest on it, same as me.
They should be shown some respect for the hard work they are doing so that you and I can enjoy and use the tools provided.

Points can be made (even razor sharp cutting ones) with other verbiage.  I don't believe either your ideas or opinions would be censored.  Here is where the line is crossed...
