I posted the vid of him being weighed with another Siberian tiger who weighed 207kg I believe, the lion is definitely a big boy,
Pantherinae said there is a est. 270 kg Siberian there as well, which I am waiting ever so patiently to see some pics of him.

He posted some nice pics of Ulysses that you can use to compare to the big siberians.

Yes, I remember that video, the lion weighed 252 kg and the tiger weighed 203 kg.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHZjBCk9Xh4

The title of the video is wrong as it not weighed 255 kg, but the important thing is that the video is reliable and the weight too. About the tiger, it is very small and it looks young as it "beard" is still very small.

Thanks for redirect me on this. Kingtheropod will found the weight of the lion usefull.

The lion has also been weighted on 260 kg, 90% of the Time he is weighed on 255kg and the posters of him in the zoo, and on presentasions he is described to be 255 kg. :-)

Also the tiger in this video is 10 years when this is filmed.he is quite big framed. And i have posted some pictures of him. But his mother comes from the wild and to be a wild siberian he is actually pretty big!
Also when I do see this clip I do think the tiger beeing weighed is Ulysses's son Rex, but they weigh the same.

Thanks for the clarification Pantherinae, and I believe you as the weight of the great cats have great fluctuations and a range of 250-260 kg is very good for a large captive lion. However, in order to use the weight, we need confirmation, and the only confirmed figure is that of 252 kg via video, so I think this is the useful one.

About the tiger, I still think it looks young and it doesn't look as masive as the pictures that you show. It will be good a stripe comparison just for clarification of the issue. Still, 203 kg seems normal for a captive tiger, although a little low in comparison with other specimens, like for example Copenhagen.

As i said the one weighed in the video could be Ulysses's son a 6 year old! But both are at the same weight! But rex is quite fat, and Ulysses is not! Ulysses is actually quite large framed!

Hi @Apollo

Rasta Dissapeared, i Don`t know how he died, unfourtunetly, he was belived to have been killed by a croc in 2007, but it was all just a lie, but how he really died i don`t know.. Makhulu died beceause of his old age last year, he was a 15 year old male lion, and at such an old age he probably had trouble fending for himself... Pretty boy most likely for the same reason, I`m not quite sure if there is more to the story than that...

Hope it helps :)

If Rex is "fat" than no way is the one being weighed, Rex. He doesn't seem fat at all, the opposite actually.

Rex is a little overweight, and 4 week ago I was actually weighing the tigers, Ulysses 205,5 kg, and rex 202 kg.

Here is rex on a picture.

Rex must be smaller framed then?
Is Ulysses noticeably Taller shoulder level or longer bodied?
Or is it just the way they carry their weight?

Yeah Rex is smaller framed and lower than Ulysses! Ulysses is very tall almost as tall as Aslan over a meter tall I have heard, I will check when I get back to work!

name: Tsaro pride male.
Location duba plains (Botswana)
age: around 11 years.

He is the most impressive male lion I have ever seen. Hes tall, long and massive/ fat. Hes rulling the tsaro pride alone! Not only is he a big male lion but also his lionesses are know for beeing very impressive. And thats why i will post a video of him dominating his son around a buffalo calf kill, ( Notice how big he is compared to his lionesses)
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-kmMCp6IHq4

More impressive than the Kruger male?

Actually yes! He do look massive, hard to tell from videos and pictures. But from what i hear he is massive. And he does look so! He is also a little fat. He does probably have an weight at around 250 +/- kg. Remeber he does almost only live on buffalo and giraffe. So he has a lot of food!

When it comes to Ulysses and Rex I can try to take a picture of them together so you can compare them, if they do walk side by side one time.

Sorry I deleted my comment because I saw your kruger lion profile and saw you mentioned how massive he was from a eye witnessed view point. They are both big boys, 250+kg for sure. imo
