After the injury to his leg, he was getting too close to his brothers often and looking to bond frequently. A swipe from one of them could have damaged the eye.

I am wondering why would any brother want to swipe him? I am not sure that is what happened. Wasn’t he sometimes with Nukhuma lioness?

We see this happen btw family members when feasting on a prey or fighting for mating rights. A year or so back in Mara, a young lion in fine condition lost his lone eye and had to be put down. Can’t remember his name, that injury was suspected from his brothers in the coalition.

Its suspected Nhenha caused an injury to his partner’s eyelid, narrowly missing the eye.I suspect it’s his brothers here as K4 didn’t seem to come across rival males or was interacting with females of late. Since the attack a few months back, he is totally stuck with his brothers, so suspecting them. Just a theory, could be wrong.

Yes it was Jicho of 1/5 Enkoyanai Males, he was already a 1 eyed male and then presumably his brothers and him fought over food and he was then completely blind in both eyes and you can see him just circling in the same position so KWS had to euthanised him as he will not survive.

Kambula males still at the young Elephant carcass in Sabi Sabi
"The four young Kambula breakaway males continue to benefit from their recent discovery - a young elephant that likely succumbed to injuries from a fight. Although they have already eaten their fill, they are expected to linger in the area for a few more days, feeding intermittently while digesting their meal. Meanwhile, vultures have begun to gather, drawing in additional scavengers and opportunistic predators. As activity around the carcass intensifies, the mounting pressure may ultimately compel the males to relinquish their claim and move on."

Wouldn't it be funny if after all this time the healthier S.BDM and the Avoca male ended up pride males of the Nkuhumas.

Would be good. Two male lions would be more than Kruger male lion; hopefully Southern Avoca male lion is ok. When Black damn male were with Nukhuma lionesses they were young. I believe they were a little bit older than Kambula male lions. The black damn male lions must be seven? I wonder how old the young Avoca male lion is. He must be around six?

Would be good if Black damn male lion and brother and young Avoca stay with Nukhuma lions. Would Kambula male lions do anything? I wonder if Black Damn male lion is better and may help black damn brother or young Avoca.

1/4 Kambula Boys.
A beautiful profile of a king in waiting.
All the brothers reunited in Sabi Sabi where they stayed for a while, but are now back in the North. The Kruger Male hotfooted it off into Londolozi while the Boys hung around the kill with the 1 Nkuhuma female.
Good luck, my Boys, it’s time to make a stand and take a pride and territory!
