Kambula/Ntsevu males

All 4 Kambulas have been sighted and filmed roaring together since 2022.

In fact we even have footage of all 4 roaring with the sister, never mind only the 4 males together.

This is nothing new.

K5 has such an intimidating look.

In fact, all of them on this picture look focus and alert, they are clearly in unknown area to them.

Maybe letting K5 lead this gruop will benefit them, idk, he looks like "stubborn" lion who wants to do it his way, as he clearly doesnt want to follow K4 and others in the north.

If they are roaring in KK, Nkhulus will must respond, kinda worried for K4 tho, not sure how mobile he is.

Appears, K5 is taking after his uncle, Scrapper. So far, if they are together, and there is a dust up happening, he's always in the middle of it, even when they aren't together.

I fixed your post, please have a look at our tutorial section, for assistance on how to embed Instagram links. I am not sure if you tried this, or not, but one thing is for certain, you posted the wrong link for the embed. When getting a link to embed an Instagram post, you have to go to the full page for the post itself, then hit the three ..., in the upper right hand corner, and select "Copy Link". It will not embed properly if you simply copy the link from the address bar of your browser. Feel free to contact myself, or any of our other Mods, should you have any questions, or need further assistance.

And here we go again.

This Kambula situation is sort of reminding me of the Nhenha/NK in the West.

There was Kruger male lion with Nukhuma lionesses, then another video the male lion with dark mane was with the same Nukhuma lioness. I wonder what will happen now with Kambula male lions.

I'm unfamiliar with Nhenha/NK in the West... were they similar in terms of roaming around but not territorial enough to stay in one location permanently?

They briefly took over the West and Ximhungwe pride ( for some 2 months ), were ousted by PCM and kept leaving ans returning to the West to get chased off again, in a seminomadic way, until PCM killed Nhenha and eventually sired cubs with Ximhungwe pride, putting an end to that long period of instability that went for almost a year.

I think he is refering to the problems the Ximhungwe pride found itself in for a while a few years back.

First the pride was first under the Tumbella coalition with the PCmales staying more to the east. However after the Tumbella coalition collapsed it created a power vaccuum in the deep west with both the Nkuhuma male, remaining Tumbella and the PCmales competing with eachother.
The PCmales were however by far the strongest group. So usually what happened is that they chased everyone off, spend some days with the Ximhungwes and then left for the east again allowing Nym and Tumbella to simply reclaim the pride. The constant switching took a real number on the pride and its suspected to have lead to the loss of at least one litter.

At one point Nkuhuma and Tumbella tried to form a coalition, but that fell apart due to agression from Tumbellas side before they could even be tested by the PCmales.
The most notable pairing was however whem Nkuhuma was joined by Nhenha for a while. Which were used by the Ximhungwes to wreak havoc on the nearby Othawa pride. But ultimately they too were constantly forced to flee when the PCmales returned.

The whole thing only ended when the PCmales shifted their own territory more to the west, killed Nhenha and started spending much more time with the Ximhungwes.
Nym decided to wander around and has been somewhat successful as a vagabond. While Tumbella hid down in the deep west, occasionally meeting up with the remains of the Othawa pride.

NK/Nhenha first takeover west from Tumbelas, only to be takeovered themself by PCMs few months after.
They tried to reclaim it, as PCMs still didnt fully transition west, but that failed as Nhenha got killed.

deonwesselsphotography Great day out with Wild Dogs alarm calling at the Kambula males. Good to see the 4 of them together again. The K4 male has healed up extremely well.
