There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

For the #10yearchallenge we present to you two handsome male #jaguars that Panthera staff have been tracking for the past decade in the Jofre region of the Brazilian #Pantanal. On the top, we have Trapézio, named for his trapezoid-shaped rosette and first captured on camera trap 10 years ago when he was nine years old. Now he’s 19 and still a dominant jaguar, which speaks well of the habitat and prey quality available in this northern Pantanal paradise. On the bottom is Holyfield, so named because of his torn ear. At 15 years old, he is also still a defender of a large territory and may have even fought Trapézio in the past. Amazingly, however, our camera trap research revealed that these two unrelated bruisers (confirmed by DNA analyses) put down their gloves and formed an unusual coalition. This is an important key to understanding the social lives of these otherwise secretive and solitary #cats.
