There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Their body types look like Hercules and the other huge ligers. Same goes to Jaipur the Siberian tiger. They are all so obese.

The thick Primordial Pouch screams obese, not to mention the camera angle from below to make the lion look bigger.
Not at all, it's just a well-fed chubby lion who happens to also have a big frame, chubbiness is common among most big cats in captivity I'm sure you'd be aware of that. Also, the angle has nothing to do with the fact that this lion is almost as tall in the head as the mas next to him. I'm not gonna go back and forth with you because I think I know who you are and I'm gonna refrain from L v T debates on this forum. You can argue with yourself.

L v T debates? We are talking about this lion you posted right now what debates? He isn't as tall as the man next to him, and the camera angle gives the illusion that the lion is bigger. Its on purpose too.

About latest postings. Most of those lions look like to be a bit on the... "fat side" to say it nicely. Not maybe in gross way, but somewhat. Then again when we are talking about lions, not ligers, putting figures like 400 kg is just unrealistic. While everyone who are honestly interested about big cats with realistic point of view are struggling to find a few individuals which would be even 300 kg (not obese) lions or tigers, saying that some individual would be even 400 kg.... there is no justification for such claim really.
Only known big cats able to reach 400 kg are ligers, when we aren´t talking about overfed "pets". And when looking at some ligers said to have been 400 kg, maybe a bit overweight there too. Big lions in some photos, but it would be better to keep things realistic and not reach too far.

The biggest lion at Taigan is 300 kg claimed Chuk.I believe he has the biggest frame(both long and tall) compared to other lions there. He is bit overweight and could be a 250 kg lion in perfect shape.
