There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Dominant males are the two old Mazithi males, with the Mazithi pride. The same old male and pride shared by Majingilane at reply #48, in this thread.

in message #48 you can read that these two males were ousted,
who did oust them?
an other coalition?

but now they are back with the pride they controlled in the past? or this is their natal pride?

I don't know many information of the current situation. Old Mazithi males are around 12-13 years old, and they control the Mazithi pride for the last 10 years and more. They ousted by 4 male, but i don't know the current position of the old males in the pride.

@Majingilane you know other info about?

I don't know much about them, aside from what has been posted.

But regarding the last question, I don't think they're back with the pride, they're still nomads, but I think in this case the lionesses know who they are and so maybe they don't have a problem with them, sharing a meal.

In this case, I think it's something similar to what happened with the old Kruger male, when the he returned to the territory of the southern pride and the lionesses didn't have a problem with it, they even mated with him.

So,  is not a coalition of five, is only a pride with the Mazhitis?

Maybe it's an older pic with the current, younger Mazhiti males, back when they were still in the pride.

Eastern Bank males
From a Dangerous Business Travel Blog
We probably had the most luck with seeing lions – in fact, we saw them on 3 of our 4 games drives.

The first encounter was after dark on the first night, when we witnessed two male lions calling/challenging each other on one of the paved roads (you can listen to this in my video). The lions stalked down the road towards each other in a territorial dispute, and we nearly saw a real cat fight!
On the second day, we became voyeurs to a pair of lions mating (fun fact: lion sex only lasts for a handful of seconds, but when they are mating they do it every 10-15 minutes for days on end!).

We also came across a group of four young males napping in the shade right alongside the road.

And, lastly, we met with a whole pride of young lions atop a rocky hill at sunset that evening.
