There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

"Tula" is a 2 1/2 year old Siberian tiger, weighing 242 pounds. She fractured her mandibular canine when playing with her littermate, sister, on an elevated structure. An observant zookeeper spotted the canine tip piece, approximately 1 1/2 cm. long, shortly after the incident and confirmed by observing the tigress, that the canine was short, fractured.

Wow, how is that animal 300kg!

It looks like a 550-pounder. Clearly looks can be deceiving... by 50lbs.

That's my hometown zoo! There was a contest to name her when she was born. There are three tiger exhibits at the Minnesota Zoo and the father, Putin, is next door in his own enclosure. Two bothers from Detroit were in the asecond area but they actually may have been moved to another zoo in exchange for two more females. I'm going in a week or two so I will post some pictures.

He must be a giant framed cat because his mass looks fairly normal here.

Yes he was enormous. His head was incredible when you saw it close. I went to see him a week ago, and he had become old and it was almost emotinal to see him now compared to his prime when I spent so much time with him.
