I´m not seeking photos about him :) I try to find out if weights, which he has told/claimed, can be verified by some zoo etc. Studbooks etc. don´t give that information even though otherwise valuable for zoos. So far I haven´t been able to get any verifications. I don´t see those figures impossible. I just am interested to find out figures, which zoos confirm as reliable weighed. I find it a little bit odd, that some people would weigh tigers here and there in different zoos so, that no-one in those zoos can´t confirm anything today, it´s not that long time after all. Until some zoo confirms some of his claims, I personally don´t take those for granted. And this is nothing personal, but he just isn´t someone well known biologist like Karanth, Miquelle etc. Good thing is, that he gives names and zoos, so what he says can be checked within some time period.

One year old amur male called Clyde is 140 kg. When I say 1yo I mean not more than 12 months, because he was born 10th March 2011 and the article is from 27 march 2012.

His father was Skip. I saw him in 2013, he was 17yo then and absolutely dwarfed 196 kg male in next enclosure. This should be him  This is probably not Skip but Jupiter.

So has this Kennion been zookeeper somewhere? They didn´t know him now in Marwell Wildlife for instance, so it would be interesting to know, that how he could have weighed these animals as he says? I ask this because so far it has been impossible to get any official verification to any of figures stated by him. It would be very nice to get something to back up a bit more what he states. Someone should be able to verify what he is telling. He seems to be ok, but I find it a bit odd, that no-one has been able to verify those things yet.

So far still heaviest tigers verified also by zoos have been Baikal (Cherry Brook zoo, Assiniboine Park zoo) and Igor (Odenze zoo) who were 250 kg. Btw what comes to tiger weights in some advertisements, they used for Igor 250 kg when he was 13 years old, while that was his prime weight. Aslan, lion, as known was 253 kg in his prime and then again 233 kg today as an old lion, 15 years old. So it looks like, that a healthy animal in good conditions doesn´t necessarily lose so much weight, this of course can be and of course is individual thing.

Then again as mentioned lion Nkosi was 270 kg, when he died and he was also an old lion at that time, but not even closely as fit as for instance Aslan is still now as senior, difference in photos is very clear. I wonder if Nkosi was heavier when he died when comparing to his prime condition. If not, then he has had to be one huge lion. Even bigger than I have thought.

It´s pity that from South Africa it seems difficult to get replies, that tiger, which was said to have been 320 kg would be interesting. In photos he doesn´t look so special, but naturally it doesn´t mean that he wouldn´t have been that in past. Well, in these days people have a lot of other things to think about than some emails about weights.....

To me Aslan's fathern Tau (265 kg) much more fit than Aslan(252 kg) While I agree Nkosi is less fit compared to Aslan.

I'm not sure if this information has been shared before, but are these lions Barbary/Barbary mixed, or are they Southern African lions of the subspecies melanochaita? They have a leo leo body characteristics to me.

Its not uncommon for lions living in Scandinavian countries to have a belly mane.I think its due to colder climate and I contacted the zoo, they said they are southern African lions.

This is not Skip, this male is called Jupiter (born 2007). BTW It seems that I posted a photo of Jupiter (mistaken by his robustness)

5yo amur male called Amur. 250 kg. I have never seen him, but breeders told me that he was around 250 kg.

And here you have written source for it.

and this should be Marecek. One of the biggest tigers from Tiger Oasis. Weight unknown.

But according to this article https://www.czsk.net/dotyky/8_2003/tigre.html

1. amur males are (on average) 220 - 230 kg.
2. Tigers from Tiger Oasis are substantially larger.

Marecek has interesting body construction. Some amurs are bear-like creatures, while others have strong legs but lean body (combination of power and agility). Somewhat similar to cougars (or perhaps cheetahs? )...but rather unique. No other felid has this kind of body. Here is another example, subadult male.
