There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. The bear on post #9 certainly looks like he might be a grolar bear. I have seen pictures of the grizzly/polar bear hybrids nearly identical. However, the bear pictured is actually a very rare Syrian brown bear. They are the world's only bear that normally has white claws.

One wakes up in the morning and opens the door to look at the lovely sunrise in the marvellous Kuril lake - Kamchatka. Just as the eyes widen enough and set an end to the drowsiness, the vision starts extending towards the famous watch tower and the mouth of a river that joins the lake. 9 out of 10 times you can expect more than one Brown Bears splashing water and fishing salmons.
This is one place where the nearest town and habitation is 200kms away and apart from our group of 12-14 individuals, we will perhaps never see anyone else. Every morning and evening the Brown Bears appear even before you wear your shoes and set walking to get closer to these magnificent fisher-bears.
Everyone who has been here don't forget to realise the quality of air and the sheer sense of being in one of the world's most remote wilderness areas.

Bear with me on this one.

I listened to this song for the first time yesterday and I loved it. I think it suits all the bears just fine.

That was good ( post #11 ), but I like this version better. And yes, the song fits the bear.

'Sophie' the ice grizzly on the Fishing Branch River in the northern Yukon during my photo trip there in late October. Beautiful afternoon light and a gorgeous bear!

I watched 'Bears of the Last Frontier' a few months ago. A very good documentary series.
