There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

It was posted thru Londolozi youtube vlog, this was from around 1 month ago or something like that, when the DM/Orange Eyed young male was missing from the pride.

Speaking of young males and DM, do we know whatever happened to that unknown young male that shared a meal with DM?

That was "Wonkey Eyed" male from Mluwati Concession, possibly Imbali pride, latest sighting of him was that he was seen hanging with Silver Eyed Talamati female in southern Manyeleti, that was ~ half a year ago, nothing on him since.

Description is not accurate, as DM was nomadic for around half a year, he is trying to "redeem" himself and become dominant again.

It isn't very clear how it came to be, but not only is DM in great physical shape all of a sudden, his limp has all but disappeared. Given the length of time he had that limp, at times often seeming to be rather severe, suddenly it's hardly noticeable.

Only thing left is for his once magnificent mane to bounce back.

Maybe DM's limp is better because during the time away from Talamatis he probably did more physical work, which is physical therapy :)

Joining the remaining females and subadults, who are beginning to be hunters, get him better fed. He is doing his job defending the territory, which provide kids regular meals, instead of being nomadic.

Northern Avocas

Sightings:
• The first sighting of these males was on the 10th, when they were south of Clarendon Dam; this is further east than we expect to see them.
• On the 25th, the two males were with three lionesses and seven cubs from the Nkuhuma pride south of Mlowathi Dam; they fed on the remains of an adult zebra. The group remained in the same area for the next two days.
• On the 28th, the two males kept the company of 18 Nkuhuma lions while they all fed on a buffalo bull's remains in the Maponyoleni Donga's lower reaches. The same grouping moved north and was around Mlowathi Pans on the 29th and 30th.

Southern Avocas

Sightings:
• Both males were northwest of Mister’s Koppies on the 1st. They had killed a buffalo cow and were feasting on their bounty.
• Members of the Sand River pride joined the banquet on the 2nd .
• The males were with members of the Sand River pride again on the 3rd, when they were at Flat Rocks.
• On the 12th, both males were together in central Toulon.

To me it's clear that he walked less and weighed a lot less during his wanderings which took a lot of pressure off his joint.
He also seems to be using his joint differently and not leaning into the injury like he used to do while walking.
Perhaps he has built up different muscles which better support the area rather than irritating it day after day.
