Has there been any further word on that young male that was seen with Dark Mane, and was he ever identified as to his origins?

‎‏One of the beautiful males at Sabi Sands, who has far succeeded in acquiring, spreading offspring and expanding. They're the Northern Avocas, and here's a stunning shot and clip of Mohawk Avoca walking confidently, roaring and proclaiming his presence which he does wherever he goes, defying, and often winning the challenge!

Sabi Sands, South Africa.

Great to see DM up and about. Are those scars, the one in the middle of his back and the one on his shoulder/back, are those recent? They don't appear very old, but I am not sure I have seen them before.

Those superficial scratches are almost always from meal times or even branches if they are moving through the thick bush. Kruger lions always look a bit rough compared to lions who live in the open plains.

Lions dominance in coalition changes depending of situation, i dont think its known who is more dominant between this 2, people think that more impressive male is more dominant, but it might not be the case..

No, unfortunatly we did not seen them compating for mating rights to judge which is the more dominant.
