There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Hi I did have a question has there been any news on the young plain camp male lion? Son of southern Avocas?
Came across this footage of the young PC male today. Comment says he holds a little territory around Skukuza which is KNP south of Sabi Sands

Lone young males like him I always have a sweet spot for. Just beceause they are out on their own, on the dangerous journey of life. Without a partner

Nkuhlus killed 2 of the young males when they were still with the pride.
shortly after that, the Sand River boys went nomadic as (i think) 4 brothers and 1 sister. Didnt take long before only 3 brothers were seen and in recent months only 2.

I don't think there is any, the next litter after this guy were born just before Nkhulus started to establish themselves I believe, and with them now having cubs in Plains Camp Pride, they most likely killed all their cubs.
