There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

Two jaguars in Candeias do Jamari, Rondônia BR
- "Mario and I were birding and waiting for nightfall to go after the owls and nightjars. Just after 6:30 pm, at the beginning of the night, Mário says to me: "Raul, I think I saw a dog up front...". And so, less than 50 meters away, there were not just one, but two jaguars watching us. I tried to take photos but because of the lack of light, the camera couldn't get it right without making it blurry and we didn't have time. Quickly, the two jaguars jumped into the lake and swam to the other shore. All that remains is the indescribable feeling of observing these fantastic animals in nature and the warning to bird watchers not to just look up."

Jaguar in Ñuflo de Chávez, Bolivian Amazon
It appears that the lip of this impressive male jaguar is detached. It could be the result of a fight with other jaguar or perhaps even a kick from a horse.
I've seen similar wounds on lions who were said to have been kicked
