There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

I am not sure how such "records" are tracked. Incredible story, and the determination displayed by Jacob is something I believe everyone can be inspired by. I just hope they do not try and swim back the other way, now, those crocs and hippos won't keep their distance forever.

What an amazing lion! Is this Liuwa plains the same spot as where the famous single lionesses “Lady Liuwa “ lived?
She was the last lion left after massive poaching killed all the other lions. I believe she was 2-3 years old and she survived for 15 years all on her own…dealing with massive hyena clans and humans hunting everywhere. Eventually another lioness and some males were introduced. I’ve always wondered how they did? How are they? How’s the lion population now?
Thank you, sorry for so many questions

Yes. The other lions were introduced from Kafue national park, Zambia. Not sure about numbers but as per wiki lion numbers are 16 as of 2022. A very few died prior 2022

You can read for info on flora and fauna section of wiki
