There is a world somewhere between reality and fiction. Although ignored by many, it is very real and so are those living in it. This forum is about the natural world. Here, wild animals will be heard and respected. The forum offers a glimpse into an unknown world as well as a room with a view on the present and the future. Anyone able to speak on behalf of those living in the emerald forest and the deep blue sea is invited to join.

That male really does look in great shape despite them more than likely feeding on much smaller prey since their mothers passing. Doubt he’ll struggle to find a partner when the time comes, I do feel for the female on the other hand in that regard.

Throwback to October 2021.    Seven young cubs from three Birmingham daughters sired by the avocas come to join the pride for dinner.  These were prosperous times.   In October the pride had 7 Adult lionesses, 9 Sub Adults and 7 cubs all protected by at the time two very healthy Northern Avocas.   This was a peak period.

Things fell off quickly after this.

Today, only two of the seven adults at the time remain alive today.

Nature has a way of self correcting.   The pride today has 4 adults and three soon to be mating age females that will be the future of the pride.

The Nkuhuma pride back on Djuma this afternoon/evening. 'At least 7' members, one of which was the young male.

Great news, it means that the Talamatis aren't still missing their female sub necessarily.

Could the Breakaways have been attracted by their fathers? They had never gone north for all we know.

There has been cases of subs following their father to their other territory/pride before.

It is believed that is what happened with Makhulu.

I don’t think this is the case as from what we know, they haven’t met up with the PCMs for quite a while. I believe they were also spotted in Londolozi a couple of weeks ago so they seem to be doing a bit of exploring.

Yea, they are not under protection of their fathers for a while now, they are just getting older and are starting to explore.

As their mother died, theres nothing what is left for them in natal area.

We don't know what is the current relationship between NK Breakaways and their fathers as updates from Singita are very rare, but it's extremely likely that it is not a hostile one.

I’m not sure I don’t think they’d kill them but it’s been a long time since they’ve seen their daddy’s they definitely know who their daddy’s are but it’s been awhile and their daddy’s aren’t the nicest males when it comes to older young lions but it is their offspring so they definitely won’t kill them

Three Nkuhuma lionesses on Djuma this morning, in the western part of the reserve. Cedric ID'd them as Amber Eyes two daughters and one of the 2021 girls. One of Amber Eyes daughters has a gash above her eye and one under her chin. Hopefully Pale Eyes and Ridge Nose's daughter are with the other subs.
