Those cubs are growning fast, they are quite big already for their age.

As we know, Othawas are great hunters, all their cubs/subs since Othawa male/Sassy, thru Junior and mini Matimbas and now those little Tumbelas look quite advance for their age.

Also Skorro Jr looks massive, i think he might be currently biggest male in whole Sabi Sands (him or Nhenha) and he just turned 6 yrs old and coming into best years.

Rather from Othawa males T and M or are you suggesting those lokked pretty much standard for their age lol.

I would expect Imbali and PC males to be the largest currently. Skorro Jr had rough nomadic life and has not impressive genes by mean his father Skorro Sr was small male himself so I would expect Skorro Jr to be among smallest adult males currently.

I was talking about hunting abilities of current Othawa females and their cubs, they where M and T sisters, they didnt raise them.

Imbali is pretty much not in Sabi Sands, and i dont think PC males are bigger then Skorro yet (they might be when they reaches their prime).
Skorro Jr. has bad genes? Lmao, bad take.

Disagree, Skorro Sr. was not some under average sized male, he and Sizanani where around the same size, with Skorro being much bulkier male. Also fathers - son doesnt have to be similar in size whatsoever.

Also, Skorro Sr. was sired by either Old Birmingham males or Old Skybed males in Skorro pride around 2008 prob, which are best genes you can find in this area and genes of Matimbas, Skybeds, Birminghams etc.

Not saying that Skorro Jr. is above average or something, just saying that currently in Sabi Sands he is one of the largest, which he is, as N'ws are not that large in size, PC boys are still fairly young (in future will be beasts) and 2 bigger N. Avocas are not in that good of condition (i dont include Imbali, Kruger male and S. Avocas as they are more in Kruger then in Sabi Sands).

The only lion in sabi sands that is above average in size is nhenha, PC males already seem as big as Skorro jr so they'll probably be bigger than him soon and I'd like to see Skorro jr side by side with the 3 biggest n'was before making a judgment.

Sizanani was much larger even through he wasn't particularly big male either. Skorro Sr was barely matching Mbiri females in height.

Kinda it does. Of course sons are not copy paste of their fathers, nevertheless genes are important factor in development of direct individuals. Sons in general will be more or less similar size as their fathers depending from environment factor like availability of food.

I do not know if he was. There are bassicly no sources on Skorro pride from that peroid of time. Saying he was sired by old Skybeds or old Birminghams is nothink more than blind guess.

I do not think it makes much sense to not include those as all of them deffinitelly has some part of their territory within Sabi Sands with Kruger male(s) in particular.

I would not expect Ndzenga males (exept Orange Eye male), Mohawk Avoca, Nkuchuma male or Nhenha to be smaller than Tumbela male. DM is probably one of the tallest lions around and as far is he is in at least decent shape he shouldn't be smaller than Tumbela male either. If Skorro Jr is bigger than other Tumbela male and sickly Blondie Avoca, this is not a lot. If Skorro Jr would be among largest lions of Sabis Sands he would have to outsize few more of the mentioned males which I would not expect he does.

Through in the end all those are just guessing as without meassurements and weighting lions we can bassicly only do that.

Ohhhhh...
It means mohawk is smaller than DM and Blondie.
I never realize that.
What a luck he had.
Being smallest among 3, but dominant male for almost 3 yrs.

Its not a blink guess, Old Skybeds and Old Birminghams where dominant males around Orpen at that time, also just looking at Skorro Sr. And Jr. you will see similarity with Old Skybeds, especially this Old Skybed, who is copy paste of them, this is prob Skorros father, Skorros Jr. and Nchile Tintswalo grandfather :

Id say nhenha is still at the top in SS,even guides have mentioned hes the biggest around, in the past. Mohawk avoca is certainly the most bulky of the n. Avoca, he put on a lot of size a year or so ago

These sorts of discussions are ultimately meaningless as the lions never line up nicely. Not to mention can vary in weight and build dramatically on a daily basis depending on whether or not they are nomadic or well fed. Making comparisons nearly impossible.

Build is also not much indicative of success. Factors like the numbers and strength of bond between lions in their coalition, confidence, health, experience and lifestyle are far more important. Not to mention the factor of location.

The Tumbellas are having health issues. Of the three that survived nomadhood, Scar died a few months later, Limper is cripple a lot of the time. Leaving only Skorro Healthy. Luckily they have their location working with them, having only one side hostile groups can come from.

The current undisputed kings of Sabi Sands are obviously the N'was. Last year they send the Birmingham Boys running and just recently fend of a serious attack by a new coalition of three. Which if they reunite will probably be the second strongest group in Sabi right now. The rest are mostly coalitions of 2 with several ailing lions among them.

Skorro Jr. Not sure if it was a recent sighting but if it is, he is scarless so a confrontation with PC boys didnt occur
