One is infertile (Big Auntie) and wouldn’t have any cubs. Sassy is OMs littermate so she turns 7 next month. The reason everyone rightfully wants Gingerella (Sassy’s Matimba Daughter) accepted back is because ther really is only Sassy as a viable cub bearing mother ATM. Nothing personal against the PC males but a take over could be disastrous to the aging pride.
I think they are far better suited to take over the Mhangeni. After a chain of weak and disloyal males they can use a strong coalition and I dont think Nym is going to impress the N'was or Avocas.
Yes, it is a matter of the fate fo th current Othawa cubs. Plain Camps gave no indication they wouldn't be ruthless with them in case of a takeover (which is normal behaviour ofc). Gene wise Plain Camps besides Ndhzengas are as afar as we know least represented in Sabi Sands (Mantimahles descendant are probably doing welli n Kruger though? ) so them sticking around and having surviving progeny would be positivie developement overall (in addition to them being Mantimahle sons with potential to grow into impressive healthy specimen and passing that potential further). But there is also the issue of size and age of Othawa pride. That is where it was crucial the sex ration of the cubs were favourable for the future of the pride, the initial info about them being 2,4 was possibly ideal split, the correcton towards 1,5 is sad for the lone male cub, would he survive, but even better for the pride, including potentially one less sub-adult male to feed which might be crucial if Sassy end up being the lone lioness of the pride. Too many young males might be an issue, the Mhangeni 12 had 9 among them and that sealed their fate.
I guess many like the underdog story and want Tumbelas to succeed and raise a litter. Regardles that PC males eventually taking over the whole western sector is not unprobable cause of action, but as of now that would mean loss of multiple individuals and that is never a good thing to see. At the same time PC males controlling that area should bring more stability there, at the same time that might be met with 1-2 reproductive females per pride in that area (besides Mhangenis who are losing most cubs one way or another anyway since raising the Kambulas). As long as Gingerella is with Ximhungwe, loss of Othawa cubs would probably not help her chances to rejoing the pride as it othewise could - as soon as she would be viewed as a potential mate and not just a youngster by males. There is also that that Plain Camps are thoguht to responsibl for demise of few individuals in Sabi Sands already, them being still somewhat nomadic or rather without a proper pride (in a away they might have 2 Nkuhumas) there is less news about them and they don't have a compelling story (yet). Even with resisting picking sides, there is bound to be a bit of inclination among people of if not rooting for Tumbelas is the potential conflict than rather hoping that conflict would never happen, or at least not in a couple of years as I guess we instinctively expect Tumbelas to be likely the underdogs in a fight, although their confidence from being pride males, experience and being on their home turf are all things going for them. But circumstances might work for Plain Camps' favour (Limper's condition, Tumbelas more likely not to stick together, PC seem inseparable) and they need just one occassion to capitalize on. With the breaking up of Talamatis, Nkuhumas, Kambulas and vacant Mahgenis there might be enough prides for everybody without losing anymore characters, but it unlikely changes would happen without losses. THE TUMBELAS
They were born in the Nharu herd (Dominated by Scorro and Sizanani). At the beginning there were 5 males, children of those previously named, As all males were expelled, they nominated for a time, and their paths separated, 2 of the 5 went to the Kruger (if I am not mistaken) and the other 3 Tumbela known as: Scar-Eyed which was the largest in size. Scorro Tumbela, The Most Hairy, very similar to his father, that's why they call him Scorro JR or Scorro Tumbela. And finally Limper Tumbela, who was named after Rengear (Limp). The 3 of them went to Sabi Sands, they went to the Othawa Pride, which was raising a new female, a devastated Othawa pride. The 3 tumbela, had to simply arrive to make the dominant male run, which was Hairy Belly Matimba. Hairy left with her subadult children and her subadult daughter. And that is how they left the herd to Los Tumbela, who dominate it to this day. It was known that Scar-Eyed was a little skinny, he began to relapse more and more, without a doubt he had Bovine Tuberculosis, unless it is known, he did not spread it to the herd or his brothers. He kept fading until neither his brothers nor the pack let him eat, with that he kept getting worse until he apparently received an attack, from Hyenas or the pack, I don't think his brothers have attacked him like that. After that, Scar-Eyed disappeared. After the disappearance of his brother, The Tumbelas went from being 5 males to 2. Both Tumbelas are feeding well, Limper is seen to improve his limp, and every day Scorro seems more magnificent to me. The guides tell us that Scorro is a good father, because he patrols with his Brother Limper, he has no problem playing with the puppies and especially that he has not been seen hitting them. The Tumbela are out of harm's way. Eventually, let's hope it's for much longer, so Limper continues to recover and Scorro continues to improve his body.
Ultimately prides are the core of lion society. Not coalitions. So I prefer to look at things from a prides perspective.
Which has two paths right now. They can stick it out with the Tumbellas, and hope they last long enough to raise their current litter. Luckily its largely females and if they raise every one of them to adulthood, it would in one blow solve most of the problems the pride has currently. Or they are being taken over. However due to the age of the two older lionesses, it would mean they wasted a lot of the time they had left on this plane. Making it very unlikely that the new litter of cubs will make it. And if they have the misfortune to only raising male cubs. It would pretty much be a deathblow to the pride. And while that may seem to be mostly favorable for the Tumbellas at the moment. If the PC males wait their turn they will have a far healthier and bigger low maintance pride to raise cubs in in a few years. So in the long run that favours them greatly too. The western sector is a very stable region btw. I think the last real drama there, on par to what we are seeing in the east was when the Selatis were ran out. So they dont need to have the biggest and baddass males to rule there. It has done just fine with the sick and elderly in the past. 
A fantastic portrait of Skorro jr. He's proving to be a very responsible pride male along with Limper, especially they had a very difficult nomadic lives. So proud of them!

Skorro Jr., the most important lion for the Othawa Pride right now. The main thing that could destroy the young cubs' future would be his demise. Let's appreciate the vulnerable position he is in now, and hope Blondie Tumbela can assist more than we suspect. There are many deaths for young lions in SS at the moment, and new coalitions/young coming into their own.
